You can customize transparency on a Samsung Galaxy, but there is no single setting that makes every app and system surface transparent. For the Quick Panel and notification appearance, start with Samsung Good Lock’s Theme Park module. For widgets, check the settings for that specific widget; Samsung documents background-color, shape, and transparency controls for widgets in One UI 8.0. The available controls depend on the device, One UI version, and the surface you want to change—and transparency does not necessarily turn off blur.
First identify what you want to make transparent
“Samsung Settings and other apps” can mean several different things: notification cards, the Quick Panel, lock-screen notifications, a home-screen widget, an app icon, or the navigation bar. They do not share one transparency control. Before changing anything, check your Galaxy’s One UI version and identify the specific surface. Good Lock modules and their controls can change between releases.

- Quick Panel or notification appearance: try Theme Park in Good Lock.
- A home-screen widget: open that widget’s own settings.
- Lock-screen notification transparency: Theme Park is a reported alternative to an older Settings control, but the route is not guaranteed across models.
- App icons or navigation bar: these are separate customization areas, not the same as widget or notification transparency.
Change Quick Panel and notification appearance with Theme Park
Samsung describes Good Lock as a customization suite for a Galaxy phone’s on-screen appearance, lock screen, and notifications. Its Theme Park module is the best-supported starting point for customizing the Quick Panel and notification appearance. Check the current Theme Park listing and the controls shown on your device, since module features and labels can change with updates.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Install or open Samsung Good Lock, if it is available for your device and region.
- Open the Theme Park module from Good Lock.
- Choose the relevant Quick Panel or notification customization area, then adjust the appearance options the installed version provides.
- Apply the changes and check the result against your wallpaper. If you cannot find an opacity or transparency control, do not assume another menu has the same control; support varies by version and device.
Samsung’s Theme Park listing also refers to app-icon appearance, including a fix for an app-icons transparency issue and a Home screen badge-color setting in a One UI Home 8.5 context. That does not establish a universal setting for making any individual app icon transparent.

When QuickStar may be relevant
QuickStar is another Good Lock module for Quick Panel features and settings. Its functions are distinct from Theme Park’s appearance customization, and its Galaxy Store listing documents version-specific support. Use it if you want a Quick Panel option it actually lists, but do not count on it to provide a particular opacity slider.
Adjust transparency for an individual widget
For a widget, start with the widget itself rather than a system-wide theme setting. Samsung’s One UI 8.0 release notes for a listed firmware model say that users can adjust each widget’s shape, background color, and transparency in that widget’s settings.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

- On the Home screen, open the settings for the widget you want to change. The exact gesture and menu depend on the widget.
- Look for options such as Background color, Transparency, or Shape.
- Adjust the available controls and check the widget on the Home screen.
Not every widget is documented as having the same options. A transparent background also does not guarantee that the widget will appear without blur: Samsung’s release note does not promise a universal blur-off control, and user reports about blur on One UI 7 describe particular experiences rather than behavior on every device.

Lock-screen notification transparency: what to expect
Some Samsung Community users report that an earlier lock-screen notification transparency option in Settings changed or disappeared with One UI 7, and suggest Theme Park as a workaround. Other community posts describe using Theme Park to set notification transparency. These are user-reported routes, not a universal Samsung menu path: check the controls available on your Galaxy rather than expecting the same Settings option on every model, region, or One UI release.

App icons and the navigation bar use different controls
App icons
Theme Park’s listing supports treating icon appearance as a customization area, but it does not confirm a universal per-app transparent-icon control. If your goal is to remove an icon background or badge, check the current Theme Park options for your device; an older Samsung Community tip about removing circles behind notification icons was specifically framed around One UI 5.0 and should not be treated as a reliable One UI 7 or 8 procedure.
Navigation bar
Samsung’s design guidance distinguishes opaque, translucent, and transparent navigation-bar styles. It says transparent and translucent navigation bars are not affected by background settings or themes. This is a design distinction, not a current step-by-step Settings path, and navigation-bar behavior should not be confused with notification or widget transparency.

Transparency is not the same as disabling blur
Transparency controls how much of the background shows through; blur softens what is visible behind a surface. A control that makes a widget or panel more transparent may leave blur in place. A Samsung Community discussion about One UI 7 specifically asks about adjusting transparency without forced blur, and reports blur on some devices. That discussion does not establish that all widgets, devices, or One UI versions force blur—or that there is a universal switch to remove it.
Why the controls differ between Galaxy phones
Good Lock module listings document supported functions and version-specific changes, while Samsung’s One UI 8.0 widget release note applies to the listed firmware model. Community posts about One UI 7 and One UI 8.5 can help identify options people have encountered, but they do not confirm identical controls on every phone. Verify the One UI version on your device and consult the current Galaxy Store listing for each module before following instructions based on another model or release.

Samsung’s older Good Lock overview describes the suite’s purpose: “Good Lock is an app that not only lets you customize the on-screen look of your Galaxy smartphone, but also alter the way you use your lockscreen and notifications.” The overview predates current One UI releases, so use it as background rather than as a guide to today’s module screens.
