How to Make CameraFi Live Repeat a Video on YouTube Without a Gap

CameraFi Live can broadcast video files on Android, but seamless repeat is not confirmed. Here’s how to check your version, test the boundary, and consider the RTMP workaround.

CameraFi Live can broadcast a prerecorded video on Android, but its official guide does not confirm a repeat control or guarantee a gapless restart. Check your app version for a repeat option and test it before going live. CameraFi’s Replay feature is not a way to loop a prerecorded file; if your version cannot repeat the file, an external RTMP feed is a beta workaround to test, not a guaranteed seamless fix.

What “repeat” means in CameraFi Live

CameraFi’s Android guide describes selecting video files as broadcast sources from the Video controls. It does not document a universal repeat setting or promise that playback restarts without a visible or audible pause at the file boundary. Menu labels and available controls can vary by app version, so do not assume a repeat option exists in every installation. CameraFi’s Android guide

CameraFi Replay is different: it replays a short buffer of recent live footage, then returns to the live screen. It is intended for replaying action from a live broadcast, not for continuously restarting a prerecorded file. CameraFi’s January 13, 2025 announcement says, “After the replay finishes, it will automatically end and switch back to the live screen.” CameraFi’s Replay announcement

Try the prerecorded-video source on Android

  1. Open the broadcast controls. In CameraFi Live on Android, open the Video/source controls and choose the video file you want to broadcast. The official guide describes video files as selectable sources; the exact current labels may differ by version.
  2. Look for a repeat or loop control. Check the controls available for the selected file. If your installed version provides a repeat option, enable it. CameraFi’s guide does not specify a repeat switch or a universal menu path, so treat this as a version-dependent check rather than a guaranteed feature.
  3. Rehearse the file boundary. Before the real broadcast, test privately or unlisted. Watch the end and restart, listen for an audio gap or overlap, and check whether a transition or blank frame appears. A successful rehearsal only verifies your tested setup; it is not a guarantee for other files, devices, or app versions.

If the file stops instead of repeating

If your version has no repeat control, or the video ends without restarting, CameraFi’s documented alternative to investigate is its Android beta RTMP input. It lets CameraFi receive a video feed sent by another device or app. The sender must provide a continuous feed; this is not CameraFi’s internal file-loop function, and the announcement does not promise a gapless result. CameraFi announced the feature for Android beta on June 30, 2026. Check CameraFi’s current instructions and beta availability before relying on it. CameraFi’s Android RTMP-input announcement

  1. Add an RTMP source in CameraFi Live. Use the source switcher to add RTMP and follow the app’s displayed address or QR setup information.
  2. Send a continuous video feed. Configure another device or app on the network to send the feed to CameraFi. CameraFi lists OBS, vMix, PTZ/IP cameras, drones, other phones, and hardware encoders as possible sources; that list is not a guarantee of compatibility with every setup.
  3. Test the complete path. Rehearse the sender, network, CameraFi input, audio, and YouTube broadcast together. Look and listen across the loop boundary. The beta route is a workaround to test, not a confirmed gapless solution.

Connect CameraFi Live to YouTube

Sending a looping feed into CameraFi and sending CameraFi’s broadcast to YouTube are separate steps. CameraFi’s YouTube RTMP tutorial, published August 18, 2020, instructs users to retrieve the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio on a PC, then enter them in CameraFi Live’s Custom RTMP mode. As the guide is older, current YouTube Studio and CameraFi labels may differ. CameraFi’s YouTube RTMP tutorial

  1. In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream setup and obtain the stream URL and stream key for the broadcast.
  2. In CameraFi Live, choose Custom RTMP and enter the URL and key as directed by the app.
  3. Keep the stream key private. Confirm the destination and visibility in YouTube Studio, then start with a private or unlisted rehearsal before a public broadcast.

Android and iOS are not interchangeable here

The file-source workflow described above is documented in CameraFi’s Android guide. Do not assume the same source options are available on iOS: CameraFi’s iOS beginner guide describes the Video menu as listing the phone’s built-in camera and a USB external camera, rather than confirming Android-style file selection. The RTMP-input announcement is specifically for Android beta. Check the current guide and app version for your platform before planning the setup. CameraFi’s iOS beginner guide

Copyright and broadcast checks

  • Use content you own or have permission to broadcast. CameraFi’s FAQ warns that broadcasting another person’s prerecorded content may create copyright risk. A video being publicly available does not by itself establish that you have permission to rebroadcast it. CameraFi FAQ
  • Check the full rehearsal. Verify that the intended file plays, the restart behaves as expected, and audio remains continuous before making the broadcast public.
  • Keep the stream key private. Treat it as a credential that allows someone to send video to your YouTube stream.

Common problems and what to check

Problem What to check
The video reaches the end and stops Check whether your installed CameraFi version offers a repeat control for the selected file. The official Android guide does not confirm a universal repeat setting. If none is available, test the Android beta RTMP-input route with a separate continuous sender.
A pause, flash, or audio break appears at restart Rehearse the actual file and full sending setup, watching and listening at the boundary. Neither the documented file source nor the beta RTMP announcement guarantees gapless playback.
Replay returns to the live screen That is the documented behavior of Replay: it replays buffered live footage and then switches back to the live screen. Use the Video source for a prerecorded file instead.
You cannot find RTMP input The announced input route is an Android beta feature. Verify current beta access and instructions with CameraFi; do not assume it is available on iOS or every Android installation.
YouTube does not receive the broadcast Recheck the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio and the values entered under CameraFi’s Custom RTMP mode. The CameraFi tutorial is from 2020, so current interface labels may have changed.
