Use Chrome DevTools or Firefox’s built-in screenshot tools to capture the whole page; then verify that the page’s Hindi fonts have loaded before saving the image. A screenshot records what the browser rendered—it cannot repair missing fonts, broken CSS, or a website’s font delivery.
How do I take a full-page screenshot?
A full-page screenshot includes content beyond the part of the webpage currently visible. A normal screenshot captures only the viewport. Chrome and Firefox both include browser-native ways to capture the full page, so an extension is not required for this basic task.

Chrome: capture the entire page
- Open the webpage in Chrome, then open DevTools and turn on Device Mode.
- Open the Device Mode More options menu.
- Select Capture a full size screenshot. Choose Capture screenshot instead only when you want the visible viewport, not the page below it.
Set the device or viewport dimensions before capturing if you need the page’s mobile or other responsive layout. Device Mode’s device pixel ratio (DPR) also affects output dimensions relative to CSS pixels. The chosen viewport and DPR determine the result, so check those settings rather than assuming a particular image resolution. See Chrome DevTools Device Mode and its rendering documentation.
Firefox: use the screenshot button or console
- Open DevTools Settings and, under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Use the screenshot icon to save the capture; Firefox says the result is saved to Downloads.
Alternatively, open the Web Console and enter :screenshot --fullpage. Firefox’s helper also supports a filename, delay, clipboard option, and DPR setting. A delay can allow a transient element time to appear, but it does not ensure that fonts loaded successfully. Why are Hindi letters broken or showing in the wrong font?
First diagnose the page’s rendering, not the screenshot file. A failed web-font request, a CSS @font-face problem, or an unavailable local font can cause the browser to show a fallback. Check the actual page at the viewport you plan to capture.
Check whether the intended font rendered
- Reload the page with DevTools open. In the Network panel, look for font requests that failed or did not load.
- In Chrome, select the relevant text element and inspect its rendered font in Elements > Computed. Compare the rendered font with the intended web font.
- Check the browser console and Network panel for related failures. Chrome documents disabling local fonts as one way to check network web-font behavior and verify

These checks can help identify a font-loading or fallback issue, but a screenshot cannot fix the site’s font configuration. The available documentation does not establish that every cause of broken Devanagari text can be diagnosed by these steps.

Wait for fonts before an automated capture
If a script is taking the screenshot before fonts finish loading, wait for document.fonts.ready. The promise resolves when the document’s font loading and related layout operations have completed. For example, in a browser automation script that exposes the page object:
await page.evaluate(() => document.fonts.ready);
This wait does not make a missing or misconfigured font download succeed. Check the rendered result after waiting. See MDN’s Document.fonts reference.

If you control the website’s styles
You can investigate a Devanagari typeface such as Noto Sans Devanagari as a test resource. Its availability as a digital font does not guarantee compatibility or complete glyph coverage for every page, browser, or operating system. If the page belongs to someone else, changing its styling is not a permanent repair.
How can I check the screenshot before using it?
- Capture only after the page has settled and, where applicable, font loading has completed.
- Inspect Hindi glyphs, conjuncts, and matras in the saved image, not just the visible browser viewport before capture.
- Check line wrapping at the exact viewport and DPR you intend to use; responsive changes can alter both layout and text breaks.
- If characters still look wrong, return to the page and investigate font requests and rendered-font details. Taking another screenshot without addressing the rendering issue is unlikely to help.

No. It captures the browser’s rendering. Diagnose font loading or fallback on the page before capturing.
Can I use a Devanagari font to fix a third-party website?
