To loop a saree catalog on YouTube Live, prepare product photos or video cards, place them in an OBS scene, and send that scene to YouTube using the encoder setup in YouTube Studio. For one clip, use OBS’s Media Source with Loop enabled; for a fixed sequence of clips, use a VLC Video playlist with Loop Playlist. This repeats recorded material—it is not a live camera view of a presenter or garment.
Before you start: prepare the catalog and confirm YouTube access
Use product photos and clips your shop owns or has permission to display. Supplier or manufacturer images, logos, and music may require separate permission; having a file does not automatically give you the right to stream it. YouTube says creators must own and control the rights to live-stream content or clear the necessary rights, including music rights. See YouTube’s live product-tagging and rights guidance.

For each saree, prepare a concise card with an item number or SKU, verified fabric or saree type, price, and ordering instructions. Keep the text readable and visible long enough to follow. A photograph cannot guarantee how a color or texture will look on every viewer’s display, so invite questions and offer a live close-up when possible. Use only stock, price, and shipping details the shop can confirm.

- Verify the channel and check that it has no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube lists both as requirements for encoder streaming in its live-streaming getting-started guidance.
- Install OBS from the official OBS download page.
- If you plan to use OBS’s VLC Video source, install VLC too. OBS documents that the source requires VLC; 64-bit OBS requires a matching 64-bit VLC installation.
- Decide whether the show is a silent visual loop, narrated catalog, or a mix of catalog playback and live camera segments. A camera is not needed to loop recorded media.

Build a catalog loop scene in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, create a scene for the catalog so you can keep its sources organized. For a later live demonstration, make a separate scene rather than rebuilding the catalog layout.
- Add the media. In the scene’s Sources area, add a Media Source for one video and select the file, then enable Loop. For several clips, add a VLC Video source, populate the playlist in the intended order, keep shuffle off if order matters, and enable Loop Playlist. For photographs, add an image or slideshow source and set the image order and timing you want.
- Add readable product information. Add text sources for the item number, price, and ordering route. Keep the item number visible or repeat it on each card so buyers can connect a question or spoken request to the product currently shown.
- Arrange the scene. OBS shows sources higher in the list above lower sources. Put labels above the photo or video, then position and resize them in the preview. Check that text does not cover important saree details and remains legible at the intended viewing size.
- Check the playback and audio. Preview the full sequence and confirm it restarts as expected. If narrating, test the microphone and monitoring. If the catalog should be silent, check that the video files do not carry unexpected audio. Use only rights-cleared music.
There is no universal card duration or output resolution for this layout: choose timings that let viewers read the details, and use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the event’s actual output settings.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder option and open the current Live Control Room setup details.
- Copy the current stream key and server details provided for that stream into OBS’s stream settings. Treat the stream key as a password: do not show it on screen or share it publicly.
- Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for the chosen output. These recommendations can change, so do not rely on bitrate, resolution, or keyframe values from an old tutorial.
- Start streaming from OBS. In YouTube Studio, check the incoming preview and stream health before making the event public or telling customers the catalog is live.
- Confirm the event’s visibility and scheduling in Live Control Room, then monitor the stream and chat while it is running.
Even a visual catalog needs an audio check: viewers may hear media audio or microphone input if it is enabled. If the show includes narration, test it before going public; if it is meant to be silent, verify that the audio path is silent.

Make the loop easier to shop from
- Keep the same item number on screen and use that number when speaking about the saree.
- Put the shop’s ordering route in the stream description and, if useful, a pinned chat message.
- State availability, price, and shipping only when the shop can verify them, and keep those details current.
- For fabric close-ups, color questions, or drape demonstrations, switch to a separate camera scene. The catalog can continue to be a prerecorded loop when no live view is needed.
Can you tag sarees as products on YouTube Live in India?
Possibly, but location alone does not establish eligibility. YouTube Shopping product tagging is conditional: tagging your own sarees requires an eligible channel and a connected shop. For products from other brands, channel eligibility and YouTube’s tagging guidelines apply. Check the Shopping or Earn options in your own YouTube Studio, whether your shop platform is supported, that the product feed and stock are current, and that the shop ships to the viewers you want to serve. YouTube says tags may not display in some circumstances, including when content has a claim or is otherwise ineligible. India is included among the countries listed for eligible creators in YouTube’s Shopping affiliate program, but that does not make every India-based seller eligible. The program has additional channel criteria, and tagging your own products has separate store-connection requirements. Check YouTube Shopping affiliate program overview and eligibility and your Studio account before promising viewers that a tag or checkout option will appear.

Troubleshooting common loop and stream problems
