How to Make a 24/7 Shiv Bhajan Stream for YouTube

A practical guide to running Shiv bhajans continuously on YouTube, from encoder setup and copyright clearance to bitrate, monitoring, recovery, and long-stream archiving.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To run Shiv bhajans continuously on YouTube, create an encoder livestream in YouTube Studio, send it from streaming software or a hardware encoder, and keep the encoder, internet connection, and monitoring in place. Before going live, verify that your channel can livestream and that you have permission for every recording and visual. YouTube does not guarantee that a 24/7 broadcast will stay uninterrupted or that it will save the entire stream.

What you need for a continuous Shiv bhajan livestream

  • A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days.
  • Bhajan recordings and visuals you own or are authorized to use in a public livestream and, if applicable, its archive.
  • An encoder: streaming software on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder.
  • A stable upload connection, with spare bandwidth beyond the stream’s bitrate.
  • A plan to monitor the broadcast, respond to interruptions, and keep a separate recording if you need a complete archive.

If this is your channel’s first livestream, enable live streaming ahead of time. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.

Clear music and visual rights before you stream

Do not assume a bhajan is free to stream because it is devotional, old, or based on a traditional composition. The composition, a modern arrangement or performance, the sound recording, and artwork may have different rights. A license for listening or for an ordinary video may not cover a continuous public livestream and its archive. Rights can also vary by territory.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for Live Content, including music licensing rights. Use recordings and visuals you own or have permission to livestream and archive, and keep written records of permissions as a practical safeguard. YouTube’s terms are available at YouTube Terms of Service.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. It may warn you, replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even if you have a license, ask the rights holder whether your channel needs to be allowlisted through Content ID; otherwise a permitted recording may still trigger a claim or interruption. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming copyright.

Choose an encoder: software or hardware

Option Best fit What to plan for
Software encoder A creator who already has a suitable computer and wants to configure the broadcast on it. The computer, encoder software, and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast. You will need to configure the YouTube stream details in the software and monitor the computer.
Standalone hardware encoder A production that benefits from a dedicated encoding device or has a more involved event setup. Check that the device matches your audio/video inputs and ingest workflow. It is optional: YouTube supports software encoders as well as hardware encoders.

YouTube does not require a particular paid encoder product. Its overview of supported encoder workflows is at YouTube Help: encoder live streaming.

Set up and start the YouTube livestream

  1. Check eligibility. In YouTube Studio, confirm the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If live streaming has not been enabled before, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
  2. Prepare the program. Assemble the recordings and visuals you are authorized to use. Decide how the video will transition between tracks and what the viewer will see between them. A static devotional image or a produced visual sequence is a production choice, not a rights workaround; clear the visual too.
  3. Create or schedule an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a livestream using an encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream into the encoder’s YouTube/custom RTMP destination fields.
  4. Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: it allows an encoder to send a feed to your YouTube channel. Do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update your encoder.
  5. Set a conservative video bitrate. Choose resolution and bitrate based on what your actual upload connection can sustain. YouTube’s current H.264 recommendations include 3 Mbps for 480p at 30 fps, 6 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps, and 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. These are platform recommendations, not a promise that your connection will hold steady. Check YouTube’s current encoder settings table for the selected codec, resolution, and frame rate: YouTube recommended encoder settings.
  6. Leave upload headroom. YouTube recommends available upload bandwidth exceed the total stream bitrate, with about 20% headroom. If the connection is shared or variable, choose a lower bitrate rather than using all measured capacity.
  7. Preview before going live. Start the encoder feed, check the YouTube preview and stream health, and confirm the watch page works on the devices your audience uses. Listen for clean, continuous audio and watch for frozen video, abrupt transitions, or silence.
  8. Start the broadcast and monitor it. Use YouTube Studio’s go-live controls as applicable to the stream setup. Keep an eye on stream health, encoder status, audio/video playback, and any copyright notices. Verify that the public watch page is actually receiving the intended feed.

Plan for overnight operation and recovery

A continuous broadcast depends on more than the encoder: power, computer or device stability, network service, and the YouTube ingest connection can all fail. Test the full setup before relying on it overnight. Know how you will restart the encoder and reconnect to the same scheduled broadcast if the feed drops, and arrange for someone to check the stream if you cannot monitor it yourself.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Keep a local recording when a complete archive matters. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not treat the YouTube archive as the only copy of a long broadcast. See YouTube Help on archiving live streams.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction applies. For first-time activation, allow up to 24 hours after enabling the feature.
  • YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Confirm the stream URL and stream key match the stream created in Studio, and check that the encoder is sending to YouTube. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
  • The preview buffers or stream health is poor: Reduce the bitrate or resolution, check the actual upload connection, and restore the recommended upload headroom. A bitrate recommendation cannot compensate for an unstable connection.
  • The stream is interrupted or replaced: Check YouTube Studio for a copyright warning or claim. Remove or replace the flagged material, and confirm with the rights holder whether Content ID allowlisting is needed for licensed content.
  • Audio is silent, clipped, or out of sync: Check the encoder’s audio input and levels, then listen to the YouTube preview or watch page rather than relying only on the local monitoring output.
  • The full broadcast is missing from the archive: If the stream ran longer than 12 hours, YouTube may not have captured it. Use a local recording for future long sessions and verify the recording process before going live.
  • The feed stops overnight: Check power, device sleep settings, encoder status, and internet connectivity. Restart the encoder and reconnect through the Studio stream setup, then confirm that the watch page is live again.
