To control devotional music and ambience independently on a 24/7 stream, route them through separate audio sources or channels, adjust each with its own fader, and send their combined signal to a dedicated stream mix. Then feed that mix to your encoder and YouTube. The key is independent control before the audio reaches the encoder—not simply playing both sounds together in one unadjustable output.
What you need for independent audio control
Set up three parts in the audio path:
- Music source: a playlist, media player, DAW, or other source you have permission to stream.
- Ambience source: a separate recording or source, such as rain, room tone, or environmental audio.
- Stream mix: the combined output sent to the encoder.
Music and ambience need separate channels or virtual sources with independent level controls. A dedicated stream mix lets you balance audio for online listeners without necessarily changing local loudspeakers or another monitoring mix. Whether you use a hardware mixer, an audio interface, or software routing, confirm that each source reaches its own fader before the stream bus.

Build and test the audio mix
1. Prepare the playlist and sources
Put the devotional material into a playout source that can advance or loop as intended. Keep ambience on its own source. Before going live, check that both sources continue playing, that transitions behave as expected, and that each can be changed without affecting the other.

Assign the music and ambience to different inputs or virtual channels in your mixer or audio software. Set up a separate output for the stream if your equipment supports it. This prevents adjustments made for room playback from unexpectedly changing the broadcast mix.
#1 Best Overall
- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
As one product-specific example, PreSonus documents a Revelator io24 workflow that uses separate system-playback and DAW faders, combines them in Stream Mix A, and selects that mix as OBS’s input: PreSonus Revelator io24 streaming instructions. This is an example, not a requirement to buy that interface. A mixer with a separate stream bus or software routing that exposes independent channels can serve the same purpose.
3. Set the balance and leave headroom
Use the music and ambience faders to establish their relative levels, then control the overall output with the stream bus or encoder input. Check the actual signal path and meters for your equipment and source material; do not copy a numeric setting from another console as a universal target. Yamaha’s guide gives a 1 kHz test tone and a digital -20 dB reading for a particular MG20 calibration example, not a general setting for all systems: Yamaha livestream audio guide.

- 6 channel standalone mixer (No USB)
- Featuring studio grade discrete class A D PRE preamps with inverted Darlington circuit: Providing fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs
- 3 band EQ and high pass filters give you maximum control and eliminate unwanted noise, resulting in a cleaner mix
- 1 Knob compressors allow easy control: Resulting in livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare and a cleaner vocal sound.
- MG Series mixers feature a rugged, impact resistant, powder coated metal chassis
4. Listen to the signal viewers receive
Monitor the stream from a separate device or browser, rather than relying only on the local mixer output. Check for unwanted distortion, silence, abrupt loop transitions, synchronization problems, and whether moving each fader changes only its intended source.

- In YouTube Studio, create or select the live stream and open its Live Control Room.
- Copy the stream’s server URL and stream key into your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key as private: it grants access to the broadcast input.
- Choose the prepared audio mix and video source in the encoder. Start the encoder and wait for the Live Control Room preview.
- Check the preview and audio, then use the Live Control Room’s Go Live action to begin the broadcast.

Plan for 24/7 continuity and recordings
A continuous schedule needs a plan for the encoder, playout source, network and power—not just a playlist that loops. Decide who or what will notice a failure, how playback will restart after a computer or connection problem, and whether you will make a separate recording. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on that automatic archive for a broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours; use a separate recording plan or divide programming into shorter broadcasts if an automatic replay matters.
Google’s Live Streaming API documentation uses a 24/7 feed as an example and describes keeping it live while creating a separate broadcast resource for a subset event, such as an interview. That describes an API workflow; it is not a promise that a particular encoder, account, or platform connection will stay uninterrupted: YouTube Live Streaming API: Life of a Broadcast.

Choose hardware or software routing
| Approach | Useful when | Check before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware mixer or audio interface | You want physical controls or device-level routing for distinct sources. | Confirm it provides independent music and ambience controls and, if needed, a separate stream output that does not alter local playback. |
| DAW or virtual software routing | You can keep source routing and the encoder configuration stable on the computer running playout. | Confirm both sources appear as separate controllable channels and that the encoder receives the intended combined output. |
Either approach can work; the decisive requirements are independent source controls and a reliable path from the stream mix to the encoder.

Optional ingestion note: HLS
HLS is an alternative ingestion path for cases such as HDR or codecs unsupported by RTMP. YouTube notes that HLS has higher latency because it sends video in segments and specifies requirements for segment format, duration, playlist, transport, and codecs. The documented material does not give an audio-first devotional stream a reason to choose HLS solely because it runs continuously. Follow the requirements for the encoder and ingestion method you actually use: YouTube: Live streaming requirements.
