To loop a Hindi video as a YouTube Live stream, FFmpeg can repeat the file indefinitely with -stream_loop -1. Put that input option before the file’s -i, pace playback with -re, and send the output to the RTMPS ingest URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. NGINX RTMP is optional: use it when you need a separate RTMP server to receive or relay a stream, not simply because the video is in Hindi.
What you need before going live
- A video file you have permission to stream, with compatible video and audio streams.
- FFmpeg installed on a computer or hosted server that can remain online, encode or copy the chosen streams, and sustain the required upload bandwidth.
- A YouTube Live stream and its RTMPS ingest URL and stream key from Live Control Room. Keep the key private.
- A test run and a way to monitor YouTube stream health.
Hindi does not require a special loop setting. Check the file’s codec, resolution, frame rate, audio layout, rights, and the capacity of the machine separately.

Get YouTube’s stream URL and key
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream.
- Open the stream’s Stream settings and copy the stream URL and stream key. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingest. Follow the current YouTube RTMPS setup guidance if you have a connection or SSL issue; verify the URL scheme and server, and use YouTube’s port guidance.
- Do not share the key or expose it in a public command transcript, screenshot, or configuration. If it is compromised, replace it in YouTube’s controls.
Prepare the file and choose output settings
Inspect the video and audio
Before starting a long broadcast, check that the file contains the expected video and audio streams, and note its resolution, frame rate, codecs, and audio format. Review the beginning and end: a visible jump, silence, or abrupt cut at the loop point will repeat every time the file restarts. Test with representative motion and audio.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteMatch YouTube’s ingest recommendations
YouTube’s encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS; H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video; frame rates up to 60 fps; constant bitrate (CBR); and AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends a 2-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed 4 seconds. Choose bitrate for the codec, resolution, and frame rate rather than applying one setting to every file. For example, YouTube’s page accessed October 3, 2026 lists H.264 at 1080p30 as 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended, and H.264 at 720p30 as 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended. See YouTube’s current encoder settings for the applicable values.

Copying the source streams avoids a new encode only when the source is suitable for YouTube’s ingest requirements. If not, configure FFmpeg to encode to a compatible format and bitrate. The right mapping and encoding options depend on the file’s actual streams and the FFmpeg build installed.
Loop the file directly to YouTube with FFmpeg
FFmpeg documents -stream_loop -1 as infinite input looping. It is an input option, so place it before the corresponding -i. The -re option reads a file at its native frame rate, which is useful when sending file input as a live output.
ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i "hindi-video.mp4" [encoding and mapping options] -f flv "RTMPS_URL/STREAM_KEY"
This is a command shape, not a tested, copy-and-paste command. Replace the placeholders with the URL and key shown in Live Control Room and select mapping and encoding options that match the file and YouTube’s current ingest requirements. Endpoint formatting, source stream layout, available codecs, and FFmpeg builds can vary. Consult the FFmpeg command documentation for option behavior.

- Run the command on the machine that will host the broadcast. Keep the process running and monitor its output for connection or encoding errors.
- Confirm that YouTube receives the stream and check stream health in Live Control Room before starting the public broadcast.
- Listen and watch through a representative section, including the loop boundary. A successful connection alone does not confirm that the file loops cleanly or that audio and video are correct.
-re controls input pacing. It does not repair a damaged file, prevent encoding overload, or restore a dropped network connection.
When NGINX RTMP belongs in the setup
For a simple file-to-YouTube workflow, FFmpeg can send the stream directly; NGINX RTMP is not inherently required. Add an RTMP server when your setup needs a separate point to accept, relay, or process a stream. In that architecture, NGINX RTMP provides server functionality and FFmpeg handles file looping and can encode or process streams.
The open-source nginx-rtmp-module README describes building and configuring that module. F5’s NGINX Plus RTMP dynamic module documentation covers that package, not a universal installation recipe for every NGINX build. Check the instructions for your distribution and installed NGINX version before configuring a server. The available sources establish the module’s role, not that every YouTube stream needs it.

Choose where FFmpeg runs
| Approach | What stays online | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Local computer | Your computer, FFmpeg process, and internet connection | Fewer server layers, but the stream depends on the computer and its connection remaining available. |
| Hosted server or VPS | The hosted machine and its FFmpeg process | Can run while your personal computer is off; suitability depends on sustained CPU capacity, outbound bandwidth, service limits, and reliability. |
| NGINX RTMP plus FFmpeg | The machine or machines running the server and FFmpeg | Useful when a separate ingest, relay, or processing layer is needed; adds configuration and maintenance. |
| StreamNeo | StreamNeo’s cloud service | Always-on YouTube looping from uploaded videos, any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with the first day free. |
For a self-managed setup, compare whether you need a separate ingest or relay, where the process will stay online, whether the machine can encode your chosen format, available upstream bandwidth, and your ability to monitor and restart the process. No cost comparison for local hardware or a named VPS provider is established here.

Copyright, channel rules, and repeat broadcasts
Only stream material you have permission to use. A Hindi-language track or video is not automatically cleared for a continuous YouTube broadcast; confirm that your rights cover the recording, composition, visuals, and the way you plan to use them. A working encoder does not establish that a channel or particular content is eligible under YouTube’s rules. Check YouTube’s current copyright and monetization policies for your channel and content before broadcasting.

YouTube does not receive the stream
Verify the stream URL and key in Live Control Room, confirm the endpoint format required by your setup, and use RTMPS as recommended by YouTube. For an SSL connection issue, check the URL scheme and server and follow YouTube’s port guidance. Keep the key private while troubleshooting.
YouTube reports poor stream health
Check that the outgoing codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, keyframe interval, and audio match YouTube’s current guidance. Confirm the machine can encode in real time and that its upstream connection can sustain the configured bitrate.
Playback is too fast or slow
For file input sent as live output, check that -re appears before -i. It paces reading at the input’s native frame rate; it does not solve other timing or file problems.

The broadcast stops after a computer or connection problem
A direct local stream depends on the computer, FFmpeg process, and connection staying available. Check the machine and network, restart the process if needed, then verify stream health in Live Control Room. A hosted server moves the process off your personal computer but still depends on that server’s capacity and reliability.
The loop has a jarring cut or missing sound
Review the file’s ending and beginning, and verify that the expected audio stream is mapped. FFmpeg’s loop option repeats the input; it does not smooth edits or add missing audio.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live.
