To keep a Malayalam menu video repeating for everyone watching your restaurant’s YouTube Live broadcast, loop the file in streaming software such as OBS Studio, then send that feed to a YouTube Live event. YouTube’s Loop control repeats playback only for the individual viewer who selects it; it does not turn your video into a live broadcast. YouTube explains viewer-side looping, while OBS Media Sources provides the encoder-side loop setting.
Choose the right kind of loop

For the second method, use the Malayalam video itself as the source. YouTube’s preferred-language settings do not change the language of the creator’s live feed. Viewers can select a different audio track only if that video offers one; the guidance does not establish that alternate tracks are generally available for every live broadcast. Prepare a menu video that is ready to broadcast
- Use footage, music, logos, and other material that your restaurant owns or has permission to broadcast. Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. YouTube’s live-streaming requirements cover eligibility and content rules.
- Check that item names, prices, and any dietary or availability notes are current. Update the video when the menu changes.
- Make menu text large and clear enough to read on the screens your customers are likely to use. Listen to the Malayalam audio and check that speech and other sounds are intelligible.
- Export or select a video file that plays correctly on the computer you will use for the broadcast. Test the complete loop before scheduling or promoting the live event.
Set up a repeating video in OBS
- Install OBS Studio and create a scene. Add a scene for the menu broadcast so its video and audio sources are easy to inspect.
- Add the menu file. In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source, create or select a source, and choose the local video file. Enable Loop in the source settings. OBS documents local files and the Media Source loop control in its Media Sources guide.
- For a sequence of clips, use a playlist source. Install VLC if necessary; OBS’s VLC Video source will not appear unless VLC is installed. Add the files in the order you want, then enable Loop Playlist. Check the transition between clips as well as the loop from the last clip back to the first.
- Check framing and sound. Confirm that the whole menu is visible in the OBS preview, text is legible, and the intended Malayalam audio is present. If the video is silent by design, make sure you are comfortable with that result.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live and start the broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio → Create → Go live. Create or schedule the event and choose the encoder workflow. Exact labels or placement can change; YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions describe the flow.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room. Enter them in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your event. Do not post or share it publicly.
- Start streaming from OBS. Wait for YouTube Live Control Room to receive the feed and show its preview. Check video, text legibility, and Malayalam audio before inviting viewers to watch.
- Select Go live in YouTube Studio. Starting the encoder sends the feed to YouTube; use the Live Control Room’s preview and controls to begin the actual broadcast. Continue monitoring stream health and whether the event is accessible to its intended audience. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend checking the preview and monitoring audio and video.
Meet YouTube’s eligibility and long-stream requirements
- The channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube states that streamers must be at least 16. Check the current live-streaming eligibility guidance before the event.
- Encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, according to YouTube. For streams longer than 12 hours, DVR pause or rewind may be limited or unavailable; do not promise viewers they can rewind a very long broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder guidance and DVR guidance.
- Plan how staff will monitor the stream during service. With OBS running locally, the computer, encoder, and network connection must remain available for the feed to continue.
Troubleshoot common menu-stream problems
