To keep a specific YouTube playlist repeating, open it in a desktop browser, start one of its videos, expand the playlist panel and select Loop. You do not need Windows automation for that: YouTube’s playlist loop repeats the selected list, while Autoplay chooses a related video and does not guarantee the same sequence.
Loop a saved playlist in YouTube

Open the saved playlist in your desktop browser and confirm it is the list you want. YouTube notes that a playlist link includes “playlist” and a playlist identifier: YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists.

Start a video that belongs to that playlist.

Expand the playlist panel beside the player, then select Loop in the playlist box. YouTube documents this control for repeating the playlist: YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube.

Leave the browser open with the video playing. These steps set up looping for the current playback session; they do not make a powered-off or sleeping computer play videos.

Playlist Loop, Autoplay and Queue are different

YouTube explains the distinction between Autoplay and playlist repeat in its Autoplay help, and says a desktop queue does not persist after closing the browser in its queue help.
Create a hand-picked rotation that you can reuse
If the videos are currently only in a queue, save them to a playlist rather than relying on the queue. You can create or edit a playlist and arrange its videos using YouTube’s playlist controls. Check that each video can be viewed by the people and account using the PC: private videos require the owner to share access with the viewer, and restricted videos may not be playable by everyone. Optionally schedule Windows to open the playlist
Windows Task Scheduler can start a task at supported triggers such as a set time or user logon. It is a way to launch an app or task, not a YouTube playback integration: Microsoft’s documentation does not promise that opening a scheduled browser will start playback, dismiss a prompt, or recover a stream after a failure. For a simple scheduled launch, first confirm your Windows release and installed browser, then use Task Scheduler to create a task with the trigger you need and an action that opens your browser and the playlist URL. Treat the result as a convenience that may require interaction—not as unattended playback. A scheduled launch cannot help while the PC is powered off, asleep, signed out where the task requires a user session, disconnected, or blocked by a browser prompt. The exact Scheduler screens and browser compatibility depend on the Windows and browser versions installed.
Check the old PC before leaving it online

Microsoft says Edge 109 was the last Edge release supporting Windows 7 and Windows 8.1; its current support information also notes that functionality may vary on older operating systems. Check security support. Windows 10 version 22H2 reached end of standard support on October 14, 2025. A Windows 10 PC can continue to work after that date, but standard support no longer provides Microsoft security updates. Check whether the PC can stay awake and connected. Verify its power and sleep settings, network stability, browser behavior and access to the selected videos. The official YouTube and Microsoft guidance describes the relevant controls and scheduling capabilities, not a measured success rate or hardware requirement for uninterrupted playback on old PCs.

Troubleshoot a playlist that stops or will not repeat

The next video is unrelated: You may have Autoplay enabled rather than Playlist Loop. Return to a video in the intended playlist, expand its panel and select Loop.

The order or list disappears after closing the browser: You may be using a queue. Save the videos as a playlist for a reusable sequence.

A video in the sequence will not play: Check whether it is private or otherwise access-restricted, and whether the account using the PC has permission to view it.

The scheduled browser opens but playback does not begin: Task Scheduler only starts the configured task. Open the page manually, check for browser prompts, and start a playlist video before enabling Loop.

Playback stops when you leave the PC: Check whether Windows went to sleep, the network disconnected, or the browser session ended. Task Scheduler does not itself promise recovery from these conditions.

The browser will not install or update: Check the installed Windows release against that browser’s supported operating systems. An older browser may limit functionality or security; do not assume all browsers share Edge’s version cutoff.
