Jagex has announced Hunter as a coming RuneScape: Dragonwilds skill, but its announcement does not explain how to train it. The confirmed description says players will sneak, trap and collect creatures. Until Jagex publishes Hunter-specific mechanics, there is no verified leveling route, XP rate, unlock list or required equipment to follow.
Can you level Hunter in RuneScape: Dragonwilds now?
Jagex announced Hunter at its October 3, 2026 Summit, describing it as the next skill coming to RuneScape: Dragonwilds and placing it among new skills planned for the following year. The announcement gives no exact launch date and does not establish that Hunter is currently available to train. Read Jagex’s official announcement.

Jagex says Hunter will involve sneaking, trapping and collecting creatures. It does not provide Hunter XP rates, level-by-level unlocks, a fastest method, required items or named creatures to hunt. There is therefore no evidence-based Hunter training guide to give yet.

That general guidance does not confirm Hunter’s level cap, XP curve or unlock structure. Although Jagex’s help describes a maximum level of 99 for the skills it documents, it does not establish that Hunter will use the same cap or progression.
Hunter Sense and Snare are not Hunter training
Hunter Sense and Snare were introduced as Ranged skill abilities or spells, not as proof that the Hunter skill is already in the game. Their names may sound related, but the official announcement treats Hunter as a separate upcoming skill. Check Jagex’s announcement and skill information.

What to do when Hunter becomes available
Once Hunter appears in the game, check its entry in the Skills menu and read the current in-game descriptions before spending time or materials on a route. A useful comparison of training methods will need confirmed information such as XP per action, setup costs, travel or waiting time, risks and any useful materials gathered. None of those Hunter-specific details is established in Jagex’s announcement.
