Most Samsung refrigerators are adjusted with the two leveling legs beneath the front. Turn a leg clockwise to raise that side or counterclockwise to lower it, then check the refrigerator cabinet with a carpenter’s level. Access and rear adjustment vary by model, so consult the manual for your exact refrigerator before you begin.
What you need and what to check first
Samsung lists a carpenter’s level and a flat-head screwdriver for leveling. A Phillips screwdriver may be needed to remove a front leg cover on models that have one.

- Find the refrigerator’s exact model number and check its manual, particularly if the legs or cover do not match the common front-leg arrangement.
- Empty the refrigerator and confirm it stands on a flat, solid floor. Samsung warns that improper leveling can cause damage or physical injury.
Samsung’s general guidance says a level refrigerator helps prevent potential cooling issues, noises, or leaks and can save energy. It does not quantify an energy saving.

How to adjust the leveling legs
- Locate the front legs. They sit beneath the front of the refrigerator. On Side-by-Side and Four-Door models, opening both doors may make them easier to reach. Remove the front leg cover only if your model requires it; cover designs vary.
- Turn the leveler. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the notch. Turn clockwise to raise that side and counterclockwise to lower it. Make small adjustments rather than turning extensively at once.
- Check the cabinet. Place a carpenter’s level on the refrigerator cabinet and check it from left to right and from front to back. Use the cabinet as your reference, not the doors: doors may have separate alignment adjustments.
- Recheck stability and replace the cover. Once the cabinet is level according to your model’s instructions, make sure the refrigerator is stable and reinstall any cover you removed.
Samsung’s instructions differ in how they describe front-to-back positioning: its general leveling article notes that slightly raising the front may help doors stay open, while its troubleshooting article advises raising the front a little for safety. Do not apply a precise tilt based on generic guidance. Follow your model’s manual and distinguish cabinet leveling from door adjustment.

When your model needs a different adjustment
Rear leveling
Some models use supplied adjustment pads beneath the rear to raise it. Samsung describes this only for applicable models; do not assume rear pads or a particular rear-adjustment method apply to your refrigerator. Use the exact manual if the front legs do not bring the cabinet into the position it specifies.
Different leg-cover access
The leg-cover arrangement varies. If you cannot identify the levelers or remove a cover as described in your manual, stop rather than forcing the panel or hardware.

Limits specific to a Dacor built-in model
The Samsung-hosted installation manual for the Dacor 48-inch French Door Refrigerator DRF485300AP sets a maximum height adjustment of 3/4 inch (20 mm) for its front and rear leveling legs and warns that exceeding it can damage the leveling components. This limit applies to that manual’s model family only; it is not a general Samsung refrigerator limit. Read the Dacor installation manual.
