To keep chart labels visible in a screenshot, turn on the specific axes and labels you need, reduce crowding, give the chart more space, then inspect the saved image or PDF at its intended display size. Settings differ by platform and chart type; there is no universal menu path or minimum readable font size.
Which labels must the screenshot preserve?
Before changing the chart, decide what a reader needs to interpret it. Axis labels identify categories, dates, or values; data labels print values directly on bars, points, or other marks. A legend may also be essential when colors or series distinguish metrics. These are separate visual elements, so enabling one does not necessarily show the others.

- Category or date axis: preserves the meaning of each bar, point, or time interval.
- Value axis: shows the scale used to interpret the measurements.
- Data labels: show values on the marks when readers need exact figures without estimating from the axis.
- Legend: identifies series when the chart uses multiple colors or measures.
Adjust the chart before capturing it
- Open the chart’s properties or formatting options. Confirm that the relevant axis and its labels are visible; enable data labels separately if values printed on the chart are required.
- Where the selected chart supports it, increase label font size and choose a text color with sufficient contrast against the background.
- If category labels collide, use label rotation where available. Shortening labels or showing fewer categories can help, but only do so when the removed detail is not needed to understand the report.
- Expand the chart or report area so labels have room. Keep the chart edges in frame and move toolbars, menus, hover cards, or other overlays out of the way.
- Preview the chart, capture or export it, and open the actual saved output. Check every edge and label at the size readers will see it; revise and recapture if anything is clipped or too small.
Do not assume that a platform will prevent clipping or that browser zoom or a particular screenshot dimension guarantees readability. The saved output is the test that matters.

Looker Studio
In a chart’s properties, check the axis and axis-label visibility, then apply the settings available for that chart. Looker Studio documents configurable axis text color, font family and size, and axis-label rotation from 0° to 90°. Data-label settings are distinct; for bar and column charts, documented controls include data-label font and position. Google Analytics reports
Google Analytics report sharing and downloads are documented as PDF, CSV, or Google Sheets. For a visual handoff, try the PDF route and verify the pages; CSV and Sheets provide data, not a screenshot of the chart. The cited help page does not document a dedicated direct screenshot export. Looker
Looker’s chart options include controls for value-label visibility and font size, as well as axis value-label visibility and rotation. Its line-chart documentation describes rotation from −360 to 360 degrees; that is a documented parameter range, not a recommendation to use extreme angles. Looker also documents rendered dashboard delivery as PDF or PNG. Browser view, paper size, dashboard layout, and format limitations can affect appearance, so inspect the downloaded result. Power BI
Power BI’s visualization-formatting guidance describes presentation controls, including label font size. Its cited export-data documentation covers CSV or data export for dashboard tiles and report visuals; that route does not preserve the chart image. Format the on-screen visual as needed, then verify which rendered export or screenshot route and permissions are available in your Power BI surface and configuration. Choose an export that preserves the visual
A rendered image or PDF preserves chart appearance; a CSV or spreadsheet gives you underlying data to analyze or rebuild, not a screenshot. Choose based on whether the reader needs the visual layout or the data itself.

If a data export is the only available route, it cannot substitute for a visual capture: use the exported data to rebuild the chart or capture the rendered visual separately.

Troubleshoot labels that disappear or become unreadable
Labels are cut off at the chart edge
Increase the chart area or reposition it within the report before capture. Keep axis labels and legend inside the captured frame, and inspect the saved output rather than relying on the editor preview alone.

Category labels overlap
Use the platform’s rotation control if the chart type provides one. You can also shorten category names or display fewer categories when doing so does not remove context required to interpret the data. Recheck the final image because rotation can solve overlap but still leave text too small.

Axis labels are too small
Increase the font size where supported and give the chart more room. If the export still makes text unreadable at the intended display size, use a larger rendered output or adjust the report layout and capture again. No universal minimum font size is established across these tools.
The chart looks right on screen but wrong in the download
Export format and layout can change what is visible. For Looker dashboards, check paper size and layout as well as browser view; for any platform, open the actual PDF or image and verify the complete chart. If the route produces CSV or spreadsheet data, it is not a visual export.
Data values are missing even though the axes show
Axis labels and data labels are separate settings. Return to the chart properties and enable data labels if exact values printed on bars or points are necessary.
