Yes. The original Among Us supports online crossplay, so friends using different devices can join the same game. Innersloth says its console version supports crossplay with players on other devices, and the game supports online or local Wi-Fi play for 4–15 players. The key exception: Among Us 3D is a separate game and cannot play with the original.
Does the original Among Us support crossplay?
Yes. Innersloth’s December 14, 2021 console launch announcement says console players can play with friends on other devices. The official Among Us page lists online and local Wi-Fi multiplayer for 4–15 players.

That means a group can play together online even when members use different kinds of devices, provided everyone is playing the original game. The sources confirm crossplay at this level but do not provide a current, complete platform-by-platform compatibility chart.
How do you join friends on different platforms?
Use the original game’s online multiplayer flow and follow the joining instructions shown in the game. Innersloth’s public pages confirm crossplay, but they do not establish today’s exact menu wording or a complete step-by-step private-lobby process. Follow the current in-game prompts rather than relying on an older menu guide.

Before troubleshooting, check that every player has opened the same game: the original Among Us, not Among Us 3D. Also distinguish online play from local Wi-Fi. The official page lists both modes, but the available sources do not confirm that local Wi-Fi connects players across different platform families.
Is account linking required for crossplay?
Innersloth’s account-linking guide describes linking as a way to bring account content such as cosmetics, beans, stars, and experience together. It does not say that linking accounts is required to play cross-platform.

The guide, published June 21, 2022, said account linking was available for PC, Android, iOS, and Xbox; Nintendo Switch support was in progress; and PlayStation accounts could not be linked at that time. Those are dated status details, not a confirmed current platform matrix. Check Innersloth’s current support information if you need to link accounts.
Can Among Us 3D play with the original Among Us?
No. Among Us 3D has its own crossplay between PC and VR players, but Innersloth explicitly says it is not compatible with the original game. A PC player in Among Us 3D cannot use that feature to join someone playing the original Among Us.

Innersloth’s Among Us 3D page names Steam PC, Meta Horizon Store, SteamVR, PlayStation VR2, and PICO among its platforms. Its May 6, 2025 launch notes also describe PC–VR crossplay. Compatibility between those versions should not be confused with crossplay in the original game.

What should you check if a friend cannot join?
- Confirm the title: Everyone must be playing the original Among Us together, or Among Us 3D together; the two games are incompatible.
- Use online multiplayer for cross-platform play: Local Wi-Fi is also listed as a mode, but cross-platform support for local Wi-Fi is not established by the cited official pages.
- Follow the game’s current lobby prompts: The official material cited here does not confirm current menu labels, Friend Code behavior, or a full joining sequence.
- Separate account issues from compatibility: Account linking is documented as a way to consolidate account content, not as a stated crossplay requirement.
