To sign up for Amazon Prime in the United States, go to amazon.com/prime, sign in or create an Amazon account, choose an available plan, and add or select a payment method. Eligible customers may be offered a 30-day free trial; it renews as a paid membership unless canceled before the trial ends. Prime Video is included with the U.S. Prime membership described here, so you do not need a separate Prime Video-only membership to watch titles included with Prime.
How to sign up for Amazon Prime
- Open amazon.com/prime for the U.S. marketplace. If you are signing up elsewhere, use that country’s Amazon Prime page because plans, prices, and offers vary by marketplace.
- Sign in to your Amazon account. If you do not have one, create an account and provide the requested details.
- Review the plans and offers displayed for your account. Choose a trial if you are eligible, or select an available monthly, annual, or discounted plan.
- Add or select a payment method and review the billing details.
- Before confirming, check the trial end date, if applicable, and the renewal amount shown on screen. Amazon says an eligible free trial converts automatically to a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends.
- Open Prime Video and sign in with the same Amazon account to watch Prime-included titles.
On a mobile browser, Amazon describes starting from the menu’s Try Prime option and then selecting Prime Free Trial. On desktop, use the Prime membership page and follow the prompts. The exact screen and offers may vary by account and eligibility.

Amazon says the standard 30-day free trial is available only to eligible customers, not to every account. The signup page is the final authority for whether a trial or discounted plan is offered to you.

What Prime Video access comes with Prime?
Amazon lists Prime Video as a Prime benefit, and Prime Video Help confirms that Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership. This covers titles marked as included with Prime; it does not make every item in the Prime Video catalog free to watch.
- Prime-included titles: Watch using the Amazon account that holds the Prime membership.
- Channel add-ons: These are separate subscription choices, not automatically part of the base Prime membership.
- Rentals and purchases: A title you rent or buy is a separate transaction from Prime-included streaming.
Prime Video also offers an optional Ad Free subscription with its own signup flow and country availability. It is not required to join Prime. Amazon’s help page describes limited advertisements in Prime Video movies and TV shows, but the reviewed page does not state an Ad Free price.

Which signup option fits your situation?
- Choose monthly or annual Prime based on the billing interval and renewal amount shown at checkout.
- If a trial appears, check its end date and the paid renewal amount before accepting it.
- If you may qualify for a student, young-adult, or Prime Access offer, review its requirements and terms on Amazon’s page.
- If your goal is only to watch Prime-included titles, a U.S. Prime membership includes Prime Video; do not confuse that with optional channel subscriptions or Ad Free.
- If you are outside the United States, confirm local membership benefits and pricing on your marketplace’s Amazon page rather than relying on U.S. terms.
