To install a Samsung One UI beta, register in the Samsung Members app when the Beta Program is available for your phone and market, then check Settings > Software update > Download and install. Enrollment is limited, and a listed Galaxy model is not automatically eligible in every country or for every carrier.
Check whether your phone can enroll
Open Samsung Members on the Galaxy phone you want to update and look for a One UI Beta Program banner or notice. That in-app offer is the practical way to check availability for your device. Samsung says eligibility and timing can vary by market; availability may also depend on the model, carrier, and current software version. You need a Samsung account and must meet the program’s participation criteria.
Samsung’s dated announcements illustrate why eligibility should not be inferred from a general device list. Its May 12, 2026 One UI 9 announcement named the Galaxy S26 series for the initial program in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the U.K., and the U.S. The September 1, 2026 expansion named the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE in select markets, including India, Korea, the U.K., and the U.S. These were separate rollout waves, not a promise that every named model is currently enrolling in every listed market. Samsung’s May 2026 announcement and September 2026 expansion notice provide the dated details.

Register and install the beta
- Open Samsung Members. Sign in with your Samsung account and open the One UI Beta Program banner or notice if it appears.
- Submit the registration. Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm that you meet the program criteria. If no beta offer appears, enrollment may not be open for your model, market, carrier, or software version.
- Check for the update. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The beta may not appear immediately after you register, so wait and check again. Samsung’s Members support instructions describe this registration and update flow.
- Review the beta information and back up your phone before installing. Beta software is a test release; read the current program guidance in Samsung Members and make sure you are prepared for the possibility of returning to stable software.
Samsung’s documented route is registration through Samsung Members followed by the built-in Software Update screen. Do not treat manual firmware sideloading as the standard installation method.
If the beta banner or update is missing
- No banner in Samsung Members: The beta may not currently be recruiting for your exact device or market, or your phone may not meet the program criteria. A news announcement naming a model does not guarantee enrollment for every variant.
- Registered, but no download yet: Allow time for the update to become available, then check Settings > Software update > Download and install again.
- Still unsure: Check the current Beta Program notice and Beta Tips in Samsung Members. The rollout can differ by version, country, device, carrier, and existing software.
Leaving the beta and returning to stable software
Withdrawing from the program and removing beta software are separate actions. Samsung Members support guidance says to withdraw through Samsung Members; if beta software is already installed, returning to stable software requires a separate rollback using the Smart Switch computer application and a USB connection. The cited support response says rollback resets the phone and removes data created during beta testing. Back up first, and check the current device-specific Beta Tips in Samsung Members because the available menus and instructions can vary. Samsung Members’ rollback guidance describes this process.

The cited support guidance indicates that a backed-up device may be restored after rollback, but it does not guarantee that every kind of data created during beta testing will return. Confirm what you need to preserve before proceeding.

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 announcements described a different, phased beta expansion. Those older device and market lists are historical and should not be used to decide current One UI 9 eligibility. Check the offer and guidance for your phone in Samsung Members instead. Samsung’s April 9, 2026 One UI 8.5 announcement is an example of that earlier rollout.
