How do I install SingleFileZ in Chrome?
Install the current SingleFile extension from the Chrome Web Store. The listing identified here is named SingleFile, not SingleFileZ; the SingleFileZ project README says, “SingleFileZ has been completely merged into SingleFile.”

- In desktop Chrome, open the SingleFile Chrome Web Store listing while signed into the Google account you use in India. Check that the extension is named SingleFile and that the publisher/project information matches the intended project.
- Select Add to Chrome.
- Review the permissions prompt, if Chrome shows one. If you are comfortable with the permissions, select Add extension to confirm.
- After installation, open SingleFile’s options and choose the self-extracting file format to save pages in the former SingleFileZ style.
Google recommends installing only extensions you trust. The listing describes SingleFile as saving a complete web page—including CSS, images, fonts, and frames—as one HTML file.

What changes when you choose self-extracting output?
The practical choice is between SingleFile’s standard single-HTML output and the self-extracting format associated with SingleFileZ. Choose the latter if you specifically want that former SingleFileZ behavior; otherwise, the standard single-HTML format is the straightforward option. The SingleFileZ FAQ says Chrome requires the extension to view SingleFileZ’s saved files from the local filesystem, so use SingleFile as the current successor rather than looking for a separate extension.

Does the Chrome Web Store listing work in India?
The official listing and Google’s installation instructions do not establish availability for every Indian storefront or Google account. Open the listing while signed into your own account in India. If Chrome displays it and permits Add to Chrome, follow the prompts. If it does not, check your account, browser mode, and any organization restrictions before concluding that the cause is country availability.

What if Chrome will not let me install it?
- You are in Incognito or guest mode: Chrome does not allow adding extensions from these sessions. Switch to a regular Chrome window and try again.
- This is a work- or school-managed computer: An administrator may block extension installation. Ask the administrator whether you can install SingleFile.
- The listing is unavailable or Add to Chrome is missing: Confirm you are signed into the intended account and using desktop Chrome. The available evidence does not determine whether a particular India account or storefront should show the listing.
- You are looking for a separate SingleFileZ listing: Search for and install SingleFile instead; the project says SingleFileZ was merged into it.
- You cannot find the output-format setting: Open the installed SingleFile extension’s options page and look for the self-extracting file format setting. The project identifies that option as the way to save in the old SingleFileZ style.
