To install several DayZ Standalone mods at once, download every Workshop item, place each mod where the server can read it, and pass all client-required folders in one semicolon-separated -mod value. Put server-only logic in a separate -serverMod value. SteamCMD can process several workshop_download_item commands in one run, while hosted control panels can usually import a Workshop collection or accept a batch of ModIDs.

Batch installation saves time, but it does not solve dependencies, load order, signature keys, incompatible versions, or incorrect folder names. The reliable process is: stop the server, identify IDs and dependencies, download the content, expose stable folder names, build the launch parameters, refresh keys, start the server, and read the logs.

A DayZ server performs two separate jobs:
- Installing content: retrieving Workshop files and putting them in a directory the server can access.
- Loading content: telling the executable which mod folders to mount when it starts.
Downloading a mod does not make it active. Every client-required mod must appear in the server’s -mod parameter, with folder names separated by semicolons. A server-side-only mod belongs in -serverMod; players do not download those files.
For example, this is the shape of a Windows launch command (the names are illustrative):

The official parameter reference documents multiple stacked folders and semicolon separation for -mod, as well as the separate -serverMod parameter.
Prepare the mod list before downloading
Collect the Workshop IDs
Open each mod’s Steam Workshop page and copy the numeric ID from its URL. Keep a written list with the mod’s display name, ID, local folder name, and whether it is client-required or server-only. The display name and folder name are not guaranteed to be identical, so do not build a launch command from the display names alone.
Read each mod’s requirements
Check the Workshop description and documentation for:
- Required frameworks or libraries.
- Other Workshop items that must be installed.
- Whether the mod is intended for
-modor-serverMod. - Any required load order.
- Special configuration files, database steps, or startup arguments.
- Whether the author supplies BattlEye signing keys.
A batch download is only an automation shortcut. It will not detect an incompatible version or decide the correct dependency order for you.
Stop the server first
Stop the DayZ process before replacing, updating, renaming, or linking mod directories. Updating files while the executable is running can leave a partial installation and make the next startup fail in ways that are difficult to diagnose. If the host provides a separate restart and stop control, use the full stop action and wait until the process is gone.
Self-hosted Windows or Linux: complete workflow
1. Download or update the server build
Use SteamCMD to update the DayZ server installation before adding Workshop content. Keep the server files and Workshop files in a location that the account running the service can read. On Linux, avoid placing the installation in a directory where the service account has only partial permissions.

2. Download several Workshop items in one SteamCMD run
The official Linux example uses repeated workshop_download_item 221100 commands in one SteamCMD invocation. The following pattern shows the important part; substitute real Workshop IDs:
steamcmd +login anonymous +workshop_download_item 221100 <workshop-id-1> +workshop_download_item 221100 <workshop-id-2> +workshop_download_item 221100 <workshop-id-3> +quitEach command downloads one Workshop item. Add another +workshop_download_item 221100 <id> pair for every dependency and content mod you have approved. Run the same sequence again when you need to update the set; SteamCMD will fetch changed files rather than requiring a completely new server installation.
SteamCMD reports errors for individual commands. Read the output rather than assuming that a successful return to the shell means every item was downloaded. Verify that each expected content directory exists before moving on.
3. Find the downloaded directories
Workshop downloads are normally stored under the SteamCMD or Steam library content tree, in a location that includes the DayZ Workshop app ID and each item’s numeric ID. The exact path depends on your operating system and the directory supplied to SteamCMD. Do not assume that a directory named after the mod’s display title is present.
Inspect each downloaded item and identify the folder that contains the mod’s addons directory (and, where supplied, a keys directory). That is the folder the DayZ server needs to mount. Some Workshop packages contain an outer wrapper directory, so check the level at which addons actually appears.
4. Give each mod a stable server-visible name
You can keep the Workshop directories in place, copy the required mod folders into a server-managed directory, or create links from a readable server directory to the Workshop content. A stable name makes the startup command easier to read and prevents an update from forcing you to rewrite the command.

On Windows, a directory junction can expose a Workshop folder under a short name:
mklink /J C:DayZServer@CF C:SteamCMDsteamappsworkshopcontent221100<cf-id>Run the command from an elevated Command Prompt when required by your Windows permissions. On Linux, a symbolic link serves the same purpose:
ln -s /srv/steam/steamapps/workshop/content/221100/<cf-id> /srv/dayz/@CFThese commands are examples; use the paths and IDs on your machine. If you copy files instead of linking them, repeat the copy after every update or the server may continue loading an old version.
5. Copy signing keys
When a mod supplies BattlEye keys, copy the current .bikey files into the server’s keys directory. Refresh those files whenever the mod author changes them or you reinstall the Workshop content. Missing or stale keys commonly cause clients to be kicked even though the mod folders and launch parameters look correct.
6. Build the launch parameters
Put all content that players must have in one -mod value. Separate folder names with semicolons and do not insert commas or spaces as separators:

-serverMod=@MyServerLogic;@AnotherServerToolUse the exact folder names exposed in step 4, including capitalization where your operating system treats it as significant. If your hosting wrapper uses a different label, follow that panel’s syntax; some panels call the client list -mods and the server-only list -servermods.
7. Order frameworks before dependent mods
Place libraries and frameworks before the mods that depend on them. A typical list might begin with a core framework, followed by an administration framework, and then content that uses either one:
-mod=@CoreFramework;@AdminFramework;@GameplayContentThat order is only an example. Use the order specified by each mod author. If two authors require incompatible versions of the same library, no semicolon arrangement can make both versions work simultaneously; you must choose compatible releases.

8. Start with logging enabled
Start the server with the normal configuration plus useful logging options such as -dologs and -adminlog. Watch the console and the profile logs during startup. A clean launch should show the expected mod folders being loaded without missing-addon, signature, or script errors.
Hosted control panels
A managed host changes the mechanics, not the DayZ rules. The panel downloads Workshop content for you, but you still need to activate the folders in the command line and respect dependencies.
Importing a collection with Host Havoc
Host Havoc’s guide, updated 10 June 2026, says its panel can install a Workshop collection to install multiple mods at once. Its technical support team states: “You can also paste a Workshop collection URL to install multiple mods at once.”
- Stop the DayZ server in the panel.
- Open the Workshop or mod-management tool.
- Paste the collection URL, or add the individual Workshop items offered by the panel.
- Wait for installation to finish and confirm that every item reports success.
- Open the startup command-line editor.
- Add the installed client-required folder names in a semicolon-separated
-modsor-modfield, depending on the panel label. - Put server-only folders in the corresponding
-servermodsor-serverModfield. - Save or select the command line, then restart the server.
The collection import handles downloading; it does not automatically guarantee the right load order or configuration for every mod.

GTXGaming’s documented workflow is different but follows the same pattern:
- Stop the server.
- Open the provider’s Workshop-mod function.
- Enter ModIDs in the form
@ModID1;@ModID2;@ModID3;used by that interface. - Use Steam Workshop’s Installed Content batch action to reinstall all selected items when the panel offers that option.
- Complete any extra configuration requested by the mod authors.
- Start the server and inspect its logs.
Do not copy the trailing semicolon convention from one panel into another without checking its command-line help. The panel’s accepted field name and delimiter rules take precedence over a generic example.

There is no authoritative general reliability, crash-rate, or performance figure for installing multiple DayZ mods as a batch. Decide based on the amount of control and automation you need rather than an invented percentage.
Verify the installation before inviting players
Check the folder set
- Every ID in your download list has a corresponding readable directory.
- Each client-required directory contains the expected
addonscontent. - Server-only directories are not accidentally placed in the client list.
- Folder names in the launch command exactly match the directories on disk.
- Updated
.bikeyfiles are in the server’skeysdirectory.
Check the command line
- Use
-modfor client-required content and-serverModfor server-only content. - Separate entries with semicolons.
- Remove an entry if the corresponding folder was deleted or renamed.
- Confirm whether your panel expects singular or plural labels such as
-modversus-mods. - Place frameworks before dependent mods.
Check a test connection
Connect with a test account or a small group before announcing the server. The client must have the same client-required mods and compatible versions. A server can start normally while players are rejected because their local Workshop files differ from the server’s files or because a signing key is missing.

Updating, removing, or rolling back a mod set
Safe update sequence
- Stop the server and make a backup of configuration files and any mod-specific data.
- Record the currently working mod list and order.
- Update the Workshop items with SteamCMD or the panel’s reinstall/update action.
- Inspect changed folders and copy fresh signing keys.
- Start with the existing command line before introducing unrelated changes.
- Read the logs and perform a test connection.
Removing one mod
Stop the server, remove its folder from the -mod or -serverMod value, and then remove or archive its files. Check whether another installed mod depends on it before deleting anything. Restart and confirm that the log no longer reports the removed package as required.
Recovering from a bad update
Restore the backed-up folder or reinstall the last known compatible Workshop version if the author provides one. Keep the previous launch command and key set together; changing files, order, and parameters at the same time makes the cause harder to isolate.
