Make Firefox your default browser (optional)
To have links opened from other apps launch in Firefox, use this path in iPhone Settings, as documented by Mozilla at the time of writing:
-
Open Settings.
-
Tap Apps, then Default Apps.
-
Tap Browser App and choose Firefox.
After you select Firefox, links opened from other apps will open in Firefox. iOS labels and menus can change, so the exact path may differ on another version.

Mozilla says private tabs close automatically by default when you leave Private Browsing or quit the app. Interface details may vary with Firefox and iOS versions.
What Private Browsing does—and does not do
Private Browsing limits the browsing data Firefox saves locally; it does not make you anonymous. Mozilla Support puts it this way: “Private Browsing does not make you anonymous online or hide your activity from your internet service provider, employer, school, the websites you visit, or the network you’re using.”

- This pre-owned product is not Apple certified, but has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers.
- There will be no visible cosmetic imperfections when held at an arm’s length.
- This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
- Product may come in generic Box.
Bookmarks and downloaded files remain saved. A site may also recognize you if you sign in during a private session. Use private tabs when you want to reduce what Firefox keeps on the device, not as a guarantee that websites or network operators cannot see your activity.
Sync Firefox with your other devices (optional)
If you use Firefox on another device, sign in to a Mozilla account to sync bookmarks, logins, open tabs and browsing history. You can skip sign-in if you do not want to sync. Setup may be offered during onboarding, but the specific onboarding flow can vary; Mozilla’s Firefox 141 onboarding instructions describe an experiment, not a universal screen sequence.
