To install Norton 360, use the Norton account already linked to your subscription and download the app or installer for your device. If you bought a retail or third-party product key, redeem it at norton.com/setup first. Android and iPhone or iPad installations use their respective app stores, then require sign-in or key redemption and any requested setup permissions.
Before you install
Make sure your Norton subscription is active and that you can sign in to the Norton account associated with it. If you bought Norton from a retailer or another seller, find the product key in the purchase email or on the card or sticker in the box. Norton says its retail product keys use letters and numbers without special characters. Keep the key available while setting up. See Norton’s retail product-key instructions for redemption details.

Install Norton 360 on a Windows PC
For a subscription already associated with your Norton account, download Norton from the account dashboard rather than entering a retail key.
- Sign in to your Norton account.
- Select Download. If the product you want is not shown, open My Subscriptions, select the active product, then choose Download or share.
- On the Get Started screen, select Download.
- When the download finishes, open the installer from your browser’s downloads list. Norton notes that Ctrl+J opens that list in many browsers.
- Follow the installer prompts. If Windows displays User Account Control, choose Continue and proceed with the on-screen instructions.
Norton directs Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices in S mode to install through the Microsoft Store. Its support page also lists Windows 11 ARM (excluding mixed reality and IoT editions), Windows 8 and 8.1, and Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or later and SHA2 support. The Windows 7 listing covers 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Norton lists support for x86/x64 and Snapdragon X (Plus and Elite)/ARM chips. Requirements can change, so check Norton’s current installation and system-requirements page if your Windows version or device does not match these details.

Install using a retail or third-party product key
Redeem the key and associate it with your Norton account before downloading the installer.
- Go to norton.com/setup and enter the product key.
- Enter your email address and sign in to the Norton account you want to use. Create an account if you do not already have one.
- If Norton asks for payment details for automatic renewal, review the terms and decide whether to provide them.
- Accept the License and Services Agreement and download the installer.
- Run the installer and select Install Norton 360 when prompted.
Norton says the product installs and activates automatically when the installer runs. If the key is rejected, use the Invalid Product Key help page rather than guessing at the key’s format or eligibility.

Set up Norton 360 on Android
Norton lists Android 10.x or later as the requirement for its mobile app. Install Norton 360 from Google Play, then complete setup in the app.
- Open Norton 360 and accept the License and Services Agreement. Acknowledge the privacy statement.
- Sign in with the Norton account tied to your subscription and enter the verification code.
- Select Get started.
- Grant the requested permissions for App Security, Internet Security, and Wi-Fi Security so those features can be set up.
The exact prompts can vary by device manufacturer and Android version. If setup does not proceed, check that Google Play and your device’s system updates are current, then follow Norton’s mobile installation instructions for your device.

Set up Norton 360 on iPhone or iPad
Norton lists iOS 17.x or later as the requirement for its mobile app. Download Norton 360 from the Apple App Store, then redeem the subscription in the app.
- Open Norton 360, accept the License and Services Agreement, and acknowledge the privacy statement.
- Select Redeem a subscription.
- Sign in and enter the verification code, or choose activation with a product key.
- Follow the app’s next and allow prompts to finish setup.
If the prompts differ from these steps, consult Norton’s mobile installation instructions; the flow can vary by operating system and device.

What about installing Norton 360 on a Mac?
Norton provides separate Mac installation instructions, but the general account-download guide does not specify the current macOS requirements or all Mac installer prompts. Use Norton’s installation page to select the Mac-specific guidance and check compatibility before proceeding.

Fix common installation problems
- The retail key is rejected: Check the key against the purchase email or card, then follow Norton’s Invalid Product Key guidance.
- The download or installer fails: Norton’s installation support page separates normal installation from technical problems that prevent installation and links to download-fix guidance. Use the instructions for the error you see.
- Android protection features are not enabled: Review the permissions requested in the app and the device-specific prompts. Norton says permissions are needed for some features.
- Your device or operating system does not match the steps: Check Norton Support for the current instructions for your platform. Mobile prompts can vary by manufacturer and operating-system version.
