Where to get Owlboy
Steam’s Owlboy store page lists D-Pad Studio as both developer and publisher and gives the release date as November 1, 2016. The listing describes it as a story-driven platform adventure in which you fly and explore a world in the clouds.

Install and launch Owlboy on PC or Mac
- Install or open the Steam client and sign in.
- Open the Owlboy listing and acquire the game through Steam.
- In the Steam client, open Library, select Owlboy, and choose Install.
- When the download finishes, select Play in the Library to launch the game.
These are standard Steam-client steps; labels and screens can change. Steam lists 600 MB of required storage for each of its Windows, macOS, and SteamOS + Linux platform groups.

The figures below are the minimum requirements displayed on Steam’s Owlboy listing. They are not guarantees for every computer or later operating-system release.

Steam’s client support note says that, as of January 1, 2024, the client supports Windows 10 and later. That is a Steam-client requirement, not an update to Owlboy’s older displayed minimum Windows list. Steam strongly recommends the latest macOS release, but its listing does not specify Apple Silicon compatibility or test results for particular Mac models. Compare your Mac’s operating-system version and graphics support with the posted requirements rather than assuming a specific configuration is supported.
Play Owlboy on Steam Deck
Steam lists a SteamOS + Linux version, but that platform listing does not establish that Owlboy is officially Steam Deck Verified or Playable. The compatibility rating and Deck-specific performance are not established here. Before installing, check the live Owlboy store page or the game’s compatibility details on your Steam Deck; do not infer a rating from the Linux listing alone.

Controllers and game-specific help
Steam notes that SDL_GameController devices are fully supported for macOS and SteamOS + Linux. This identifies optional controller support for those platform groups; it does not mean a controller is required or confirm support for a particular model.
