You can install an Acer driver without a CD: identify your exact Acer computer, get its driver from Acer Support or Windows Update, then run the downloaded installer. If the Acer PC is offline, use another computer to download the package and transfer it on a USB flash drive; the USB drive carries the installer but does not provide the driver.
Before you download: identify the Acer computer and missing device
Driver packages are not interchangeable across all Acer computers. Find the model name or use the serial number, SNID, or part number so you can select the package intended for your device. Acer’s Drivers and Manuals portal provides device lookup and official driver listings. Acer’s Windows 10 instructions also allow searching by model.

Note which component is not working—such as Wi-Fi, audio, graphics, or chipset—rather than downloading a package just because it is labeled “Acer.” On the support page, select the relevant operating system and locate the driver for that component. If you are unsure which device needs a driver, check Windows Device Manager for devices with a warning symbol before downloading.

Windows 10 includes many drivers a computer needs, and Windows Update can offer additional drivers. Check Windows Update before manually installing a package. Acer describes Windows Update as a driver route and directs users to Acer Support when the needed driver is not installed through Windows Update.

- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates and install relevant available updates, including optional driver updates if offered.
- Restart if Windows asks, then check whether the component works.
If the driver is still missing, use Acer’s model-specific download rather than assuming Windows has every driver for every Acer model.
Download and install the driver from Acer Support
- Open Acer’s Drivers and Manuals page and search using the computer’s serial number, SNID, part number, or model.
- Choose the correct Windows operating system and find the listing for the component you need.
- Download the driver package. Acer says downloads are saved in the Downloads folder by default.
- If the download is a ZIP archive, extract it, then open the extracted folder.
- Run setup.exe or install.exe, whichever the package includes. Approve the Windows prompt if it appears and follow the installer instructions.
- Restart if requested, then test the device.
Acer’s documented process is a download-and-install workflow; a CD is not required. Use the package for the exact Acer computer and component, not a generic package from an unrelated driver-download site.

If the Acer PC has no internet connection
Use another internet-connected computer to download the correct package from Acer Support. Copy the downloaded file to a USB flash drive, connect that drive to the Acer PC, and copy the file to the computer before extracting and running it. This is a practical way to transfer the installer; Acer’s Windows 10 driver instructions do not prescribe USB as a required installation step. If the Acer PC can access the internet, download directly and skip the USB transfer.
The USB drive is only carrying the installer. It does not automatically contain the correct driver, and connecting an empty drive will not install one. Confirm the Acer model and driver listing on the connected computer before transferring the file.

Other supported route: Acer Care Center
Some Acer computers support Acer Care Center, whose Update function can help find updates. Availability depends on the model and system; Acer says Care Center is not supported in Windows 10 S mode. If it is not available or does not offer the driver you need, use Windows Update or the model-specific listing on Acer Support.

- Recheck the model and operating system: A driver for a similar-looking Acer model may not match your computer.
- Confirm you chose the right component: A chipset package will not replace a missing Wi-Fi driver, for example.
- Return to Windows Update or Acer Support: Acer identifies these as driver routes when the driver is unavailable through the other method.
- Do not use recovery media as a routine driver installer: Acer recovery media is intended to restore software to factory settings, not to install an individual driver.
- Do not update the BIOS to solve an ordinary driver issue: Acer warns that an incorrect or interrupted BIOS update can harm the product. BIOS updates are a separate procedure for a specific BIOS-related need.
Acer documentation also describes backing up wireless or LAN drivers through recovery-related tools, but that is distinct from downloading and installing a missing driver package.
