To join Samsung’s current One UI 9 beta, open Samsung Members on the Galaxy phone you want to use, sign in with a Samsung Account, and look for a One UI Beta Program registration notice or Beta card. Samsung’s announcements identify the Galaxy S26 series first, followed by Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 FE in selected markets. Those announcements are not a permanent compatibility list: the decisive test is whether Samsung Members displays an active offer for your exact phone and market.
After you register, install the package from Settings > Software update > Download and install or from the participated beta page. Back up to a computer with Smart Switch PC first. Samsung warns that beta software can behave unexpectedly, and rolling back an installed beta resets the phone and removes data created during beta testing.

Which Galaxy phones are named for the One UI 9 beta?
Samsung’s May 13, 2026 announcement launched the One UI 9 beta first for the Galaxy S26 series. A September 1, 2026 expansion announcement added the following families:
| Announcement timing | Galaxy devices named by Samsung | Market qualification |
|---|---|---|
| May 13, 2026 | Galaxy S26 series | Launch availability depends on Samsung’s country and program rollout. |
| September 1, 2026 | Galaxy Z Fold7; Galaxy Z Flip7; Galaxy S25; Galaxy S25+; Galaxy S25 Ultra; Galaxy S25 FE | Samsung listed India, Korea, the U.K. and the U.S. as selected markets. Availability and timing may vary. |
The dates matter because Samsung adds groups during a beta cycle. A phone not listed in the May announcement may appear in a later expansion, while another model may never be added. “Galaxy S26 series” is a family description rather than a promise that every storage, regional or carrier variant is included. Likewise, an S25 or Fold7 bought in one country may not receive the same offer as the same-name phone elsewhere.

Samsung limits beta access by device, operating-system version and country. Carrier firmware, regional software and the account’s market can therefore affect the result even when the retail name matches. The announcements also do not establish a universal list for every future One UI release.
Use the table as a dated guide to the currently announced cohorts, not as a guarantee. If your model is not listed, do not install a package found on a forum or attempt to cross-flash another model’s firmware. Samsung Members is the practical, device-specific eligibility check.
Check eligibility on the exact phone
Perform this check on the Galaxy that would receive the beta, with its normal SIM, Samsung Account and regional settings. A model announcement cannot confirm support for your particular carrier variant, and checking a different Galaxy signed into the same account can produce a different result.
- Install or update Samsung Members. Open Galaxy Store or Google Play, search for Samsung Members, and install the official app if it is missing. Update it before checking for the offer.
- Sign in. Launch Samsung Members and sign in with the Samsung Account you intend to use for the beta. Registration belongs to the signed-in account and the device on which the offer appears.
- Look for the registration entry. Check the home screen, notices, banner area or a card labelled One UI Beta Program. Samsung may present the invitation in a notice rather than as a permanent menu item.
- Open the offer and read its conditions. Confirm the displayed model, country, software version and any participation terms. Select the registration control and submit the request if you accept them.
- Record what you saw. If the card names a market, model or software requirement, keep that information in mind when troubleshooting. A family name in a news report is less useful than the conditions shown on your own phone.
- Use absence of the offer as a meaningful result. If no One UI Beta registration option appears, verify that Samsung Members is current and that you are checking the intended phone and account. Then consult Samsung’s local program notice. Do not treat an old screenshot or another country’s announcement as approval.
An offer appearing in Samsung Members is stronger evidence than a family name in a press release because it reflects the phone and market Samsung is currently serving. The screen can change during a beta period, so the exact labels may differ slightly from the examples above.
Prepare before downloading beta software
Do the preparation before you enroll or before you start the download. Beta software is for testing and can contain bugs, errors, inaccurate behavior or incomplete features. A few minutes of preparation can prevent a difficult recovery later.
- Make a computer backup with Smart Switch PC. Samsung specifically recommends this safeguard because unexpected beta behavior can cause data loss. A backup made on the phone itself may not be enough if the device later needs a full rollback. Confirm that Smart Switch finishes the backup rather than assuming that connecting the cable completed it.
- Update your installed apps. Current app versions are less likely to fail solely because they were built for an older release. Updating apps does not eliminate beta bugs, but it removes an avoidable compatibility variable before you begin testing.
- Check practical readiness. Keep the phone charged, use a reliable Wi-Fi connection and leave enough storage for the update and temporary installation files. The beta program guide does not promise a fixed download size or installation duration, so follow the estimate shown on your device.
- Decide whether this phone can tolerate downtime. A test device is safer than the only phone used for work, travel, authentication or emergency communication. Samsung does not publish a percentage for enrollment success, installation success, stability or data-loss risk.
- Know what you are agreeing to. Registration gives access to test software; it is not a promise of a finished feature set or an immediate download. Read the participation information in Samsung Members before submitting the request.
Samsung’s One UI Beta guidance states: “Unexpected behavior in beta software can cause data loss.”
Enroll through Samsung Members
Once the offer is visible and your backup is complete, registration is performed inside Samsung Members.

- FIT EVERYONE IN THE SHOT: Group selfies are easier on your Samsung phone with a wider front camera⁴ that captures more of the scene, so no one gets left out of the moment
- Open the One UI Beta Program notice, banner or Beta card.
- Review Samsung’s participation information, including the device, operating-system version and country limitations.
- Select the registration or participation control and submit the request with the Samsung Account currently signed in.
- Wait for the registration confirmation shown by the app. Keep Samsung Members installed; it is also where Samsung provides the participated-test page and feedback controls.
- Do not confuse the confirmation with an installed build. Registration records your request, while the software-update service later determines when your phone receives the package.
Registration and installation are separate events. Samsung says, “Beta software updates are rolled out gradually to One UI Beta Program participants.” An accepted request therefore does not mean that the download will appear immediately. Staged delivery can be organized by market, device variant or rollout wave.
Install the One UI 9 beta update
After Samsung makes the package available to your enrolled phone, use one of the two documented paths.
- Open the normal updater: go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
- Or use the beta page: in Samsung Members, open the participated beta test detail page and select its software-update control when it is offered.
- Allow the phone to check for the package. If the update is available, review the displayed version, size and installation notes.
- Start the download and installation. Keep the phone connected to power or follow the battery requirement shown on screen.
- Do not interrupt the restart or installation stages. Wait for the phone to return to the lock screen before opening apps or removing the network connection.
- After the restart, confirm the software version in Settings > About phone > Software information. The exact version label and build number will depend on the beta wave delivered to your phone.
- Open the apps and services you rely on most, but treat any early behavior as provisional. A successful restart confirms installation; it does not guarantee that every app or feature will work normally on a test build.
The software-update screen is the authoritative source for whether your enrolled phone has actually been offered the package. A registration confirmation alone is not a download confirmation. If Samsung Members says you participated but Settings has no package, use the staged-rollout checks below rather than searching for a manual firmware file.
If the beta does not appear after registration
A delay is not proof that enrollment failed. Work through these checks in order:
- Check Samsung Members again. Reopen the participated beta test page and confirm that the request is still shown as active rather than withdrawn or incomplete.
- Verify the account and device. Make sure you are signed into the Samsung Account used during registration and are checking the same physical phone. A second Galaxy on the same account may have different eligibility.
- Check the software-update page manually. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install rather than relying only on a notification.
- Allow for staged delivery. Samsung’s guide says distribution is gradual. Leave the phone connected to a dependable network and check again later instead of installing an unofficial file.
- Recheck regional conditions. The September expansion named India, Korea, the U.K. and the U.S.; Samsung warns that timing and availability can vary. A supported model in an unsupported market may not receive an offer.
- Compare the current announcement date. An older One UI list can describe a different release and different countries. Confirm that the notice you are reading concerns One UI 9, not One UI 8.5.
- Stop if the offer is absent. If Samsung Members never presents registration for the exact phone, treat that as the current answer for that device and market.
There is no published Samsung statistic that tells you how long a particular participant will wait or what percentage of registrations receive a package on a given day. The only reliable status is the account and device’s current Samsung Members and Software update screens.
Understand the risks before staying on the beta
One UI beta software is a test release, not the same thing as Samsung’s stable public software. Samsung warns that it may include bugs, errors, inaccuracies, missing or incomplete features and unexpected behavior. Problems can affect individual apps, connectivity, battery behavior or other functions, and the exact symptoms vary by build and device.
The trade-off is straightforward:
| Choice | What you gain | What you accept |
|---|---|---|
| Join the beta | Earlier access to One UI 9 features and a channel to report problems through Samsung Members. | Unfinished software, gradual delivery, the need for a reliable backup and possible data loss or rollback. |
| Remain on the official release | Use the currently supported stable software without beta enrollment steps. | You wait for Samsung’s normal public rollout of One UI 9 features and fixes. |
Samsung provides no numeric stability or failure guarantee for either choice. If the phone contains irreplaceable data or is essential every day, staying on the official release avoids the beta-specific rollback process. If you do join, think of the backup as part of the installation requirement, not as an optional extra.

Do you need to buy a different Galaxy?
No purchase guarantees beta eligibility. The current announcement names device groups and selected markets, while Samsung Members decides whether the offer is available on a particular phone. An existing owner of an eligible device does not need new hardware merely to enroll.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If you are independently considering a replacement, compare the latest Samsung announcement and the Samsung Members offer for the exact model and country before buying. A Galaxy S26-series product name alone does not promise access for every carrier or region, and a purchase made after an enrollment window closes may not create a new opportunity.
How to leave the program
Withdrawing and removing an installed beta are different actions. One stops participation; the other returns the phone to earlier official software and has destructive consequences.
Withdraw before installing the beta
If you registered but have not installed beta software, Samsung documents this route: Samsung Members > Settings > Beta program settings > Withdraw from beta program. After withdrawal, you can continue using the current official release. The precise labels can change with the beta period or app version.
Remove a beta that is already installed
To return from an installed beta, Samsung directs participants to Smart Switch PC to downgrade. Samsung says the rollback resets the device and removes data generated during beta testing. Restore only from a backup you trust after the reset completes. A rollback is therefore not an ordinary uninstall and should be planned as a full device-recovery operation.
Withdrawal does not undo an installed build. If the beta is already on the phone, you must follow the downgrade process if you want to return to the official release. Conversely, a person who registered but never installed can withdraw without performing that reset.
Report problems from the beta
Issue reporting is optional, but it is the supported way to send Samsung diagnostic feedback. In Samsung Members, open Participated Beta test > Beta feedback > Send feedback. Samsung advises submitting soon after the problem occurs and keeping the app open until the report finishes sending.

Describe the steps that triggered the issue, what you expected, what happened and any repeatable pattern shown by the form. Reporting soon after an error preserves useful context. Sending a report does not guarantee an immediate fix or a replacement build, but it gives Samsung the information intended for the beta program.

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 announcements demonstrate why internet lists become stale. In March 2026, Samsung named S24-series phones, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE and Tab S11 devices in selected markets. An April notice added S23-series phones, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy A36 5G, with explicit restrictions for some models.

Do not turn the number of families in an announcement into a success or stability statistic; Samsung has not published those measurements.
Frequently asked questions
Can I join because my Galaxy model appears in Samsung’s announcement?
Not automatically. The announcement identifies intended cohorts, but Samsung Members must show the active registration offer for your exact phone and market.
Does registering guarantee an immediate update?
No. Samsung distributes beta software gradually, so an enrolled participant may wait until the package reaches that rollout wave.
What if I registered but changed my mind?
If you have not installed the beta, use Samsung Members > Settings > Beta program settings > Withdraw from beta program. You can remain on the current official release.
Will rollback preserve my beta data?
No. Samsung says Smart Switch PC rollback resets the device and removes data generated during beta testing. Make a computer backup before installing and before attempting a downgrade.

Can I install the beta manually if Samsung Members shows nothing?
You should not. An absent offer means Samsung has not presented your phone and market with the current enrollment path. Unofficial packages can target a different model or region and may create additional recovery problems.
Which countries are named for the September One UI 9 expansion?
Samsung named India, Korea, the U.K. and the U.S. as selected markets and warned that availability and timing may vary. That list does not guarantee access for every carrier or for every device variant in those countries.
Is Samsung Members required for both enrollment and installation?
Enrollment is performed in Samsung Members with a Samsung Account. Once Samsung offers the package, you can install it through Settings > Software update > Download and install or through the participated beta page.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check whether my Galaxy is eligible for One UI 9 beta?
Install or update Samsung Members, sign in with your Samsung Account, and look for the One UI Beta Program registration offer on the exact phone. A model listed in an announcement is not enough by itself.
How do I install the Samsung One UI beta update?
After registering and receiving the package, open Settings > Software update > Download and install, or use the software-update control on the participated beta page in Samsung Members.
Why has the update not appeared after I registered?
Samsung rolls beta software out gradually. Confirm the same account and phone, check Samsung Members and Settings manually, and allow for regional or device-specific rollout timing.
Recommended Free Tools
How do I leave the beta?
If you have not installed it, use Samsung Members > Settings > Beta program settings > Withdraw from beta program. An installed beta requires a Smart Switch PC downgrade, which resets the phone and removes beta-created data.
Should I back up before installing?
Yes. Samsung specifically recommends a computer backup with Smart Switch PC because unexpected beta behavior can cause data loss.
The Bottom Line
Check Samsung Members on the exact Galaxy you plan to use. If Samsung offers the One UI Beta Program, back up with Smart Switch PC, register, and install through Settings > Software update > Download and install. Expect staged delivery and test-release problems. If you later withdraw, remember that removing an already-installed beta through Smart Switch PC resets the phone and deletes data created during beta testing.
