In the Off Grid AI Desktop guide for prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108, recorded AI tasks are available under Settings → AI activity. Open a task to review its status, model, recorded backend, request and response details, effective parameters, errors, and related attempts when those fields are available. Treat the view as bounded diagnostic history—not a complete archive or proof of how every part of a request was processed.
Find and isolate the task
- Reproduce carefully, if needed. Send one short, recognizable test request and avoid sensitive work data. Keep the model, prompt, and processing preference steady while investigating so you can interpret the next record.
- Open Settings → AI activity. If the latest task is missing, refresh the view. Search by a phrase from the prompt, a response fragment, or the model name. Use the available status, hardware, time, or request-type filters to narrow the list.
- Open the matching record. First check its status, model, recorded backend, and duration. A running task may not yet have a final response; for a failed task, start with the recorded error.
The guide describes records for local chat, image, speech, transcription, and embedding operations. The fields shown vary by operation, so a missing section does not necessarily indicate a problem.

Read the request and execution details
Request and response
Use the Request section, when present, to check what input the record says was sent. For an unexpected answer, first see whether the expected text or instruction appears there; this can help distinguish an input issue from a later response issue. The Response section, if available, shows the recorded output. Neither record proves that the model followed every instruction or that its answer is correct.
Effective request and parameters
Some operations include an “Effective request / parameters” section. Compare these values with the settings you intended to use: they can show what was passed into that operation. They are not guaranteed to appear in every record.

Errors and related attempts
If the operation failed, read its Error detail and inspect related attempts if the record provides them. These details may help you choose a focused follow-up, such as checking the active model or investigating a fallback, but an error may narrow down a cause without fully explaining it.
Compare records without overreading them
When comparing two runs, keep the prompt and model steady where possible. Check the fields that exist in both records:

- EVOLUTION RYZEN AI MAX+ 395 MINI PC - GMKtec EVO-X2 is the next evolution in AI mini PC Ryzen Strix Halo series. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled, to 32 threads. Ryzen AI Max+ 395 has 64 MB of L3 cache and can boost up to 5.1 GHz, depending on the workload. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is currently rated as the "most powerful x86 APU" on the market for AI computing.
- AI NPU with XDNA 2 ARCHITECTURE - Powered by 16 “Zen 5” CPU cores, 50+ peak AI TOPS XDNA 2 NPU and a truly massive integrated GPU driven by 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 CUs, the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 is a transformative upgrade and delivers a significant performance boost over the competition. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 excels in consumer AI workloads like the llama.cpp-powered application: LM Studio. Shaping up to be the must-have app for client LLM workloads, LM Studio allows users to locally run the latest language model without any technical knowledge required and unleash their creativity and productivity.
- AMD RADEON 8090S iGPU GAMING PC - The AMD Radeon RX 8060S offers all 40 CUs with up to 2.9 GHz graphics clock and uses the new RDNA 3.5 architecture. The powerful iGPU is positioned between an RTX 4060 and 4070 laptop GPU and therefore enables gaming in FHD at maximum details in most demanding games. The 8060S can also utilize the full 128GB pool, which is perfect for running LLMs such as Deepseek 70B Q8, which runs comfortably on this machine.
- EIGHT CHANNEL LPDDR5X - LPDDR5X is a new ground breaking memory small form factor installed on-board. With blazing speeds up to to 8000MT/s, it runs 1.5x faster than the DDR5 SODIMMs; 90% better performance over DDR5 SODIMMs in video conferencing and photo editing; 30% better performance in productivity apps; 12% better performance in digital content workloads.
- QUAD SCREEN 8K DISPLAY SUPPORT - EVO-X2 AI Mini PC support 4-screen 4K/8K output via HDMI 2.1 (8K@60Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (4K@60Hz), and dual USB 4 40Gbps Transfer speed (supporting PD3.0/DP1.4/DATA). Ideal for gaming, video editing, and multitasking, it provides expansive and crisp multi-display support.
- Status and error
- Model and recorded backend
- Effective parameters
- Duration
- Related attempts
Interpret each field narrowly. A GPU backend entry does not prove that all computation used the GPU. A longer duration alone does not show that the model is slower; loading and retries can affect task duration. Use the record to decide what to investigate next, not as a standalone performance benchmark.
Know the history limits and sharing risks
For prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108, Off Grid AI’s 2026 guide gives AI activity history limits of 5,000 records, seven days, and 256 MiB of total storage. Payloads and attachments have separate limits, so large content may be truncated or omitted. The guide also describes an action to clear saved diagnostic history. These figures and behaviors are specific to that prerelease guide, not a guarantee for every installed build.

The guide says known secret fields—including authorization headers, API keys, tokens, passwords, and cookies—are removed from recorded structures. That does not remove sensitive text typed into an ordinary prompt. Before sharing copied details, review them and include only what is necessary; use harmless sample input where possible.
Version and product scope
The menu path and field descriptions here come from Off Grid AI’s guide for prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108: Off Grid AI AI activity guide. The reviewed repository README describes Off Grid AI Desktop as a local-first desktop runtime and studio, including a local OpenAI-compatible gateway at http://127.0.0.1:7878/v1 and chat, vision, image, audio, and embedding endpoints, but it does not independently document the AI activity panel: Off Grid AI repository. Do not assume the panel or its exact fields and limits are unchanged in a stable or later release.
Off Grid AI Pro is a separate opt-in, paid, license-gated product, while Off Grid AI Console is an enterprise product whose governance and audit features should not be confused with Desktop’s AI activity history: Off Grid AI Pro information; Off Grid AI organization page.
