The Awesome Screenshot help pages reviewed do not document a setting to hide the mouse cursor in a still screenshot. Check the options in your installed version, then take and inspect a small test capture in the same mode you plan to use. The documented “Highlight Mouse” feature is for recordings, not a cursor-hide control for screenshots.
Is there a cursor-hide setting for still screenshots?
Awesome Screenshot’s available help instructions explain how to highlight the mouse during screen recordings and how to select an area for a screenshot. They do not identify a toggle that excludes the cursor from a still capture, nor do the selected-area instructions say whether the pointer appears in the saved image. That is a limit of the documented guidance—not proof that every version and capture mode behaves identically.

Check your current extension or desktop-app menus, since options can vary by version and capture mode. To verify the result rather than assume, take a small test screenshot using the same browser, operating system, and capture mode you intend to use, then inspect the saved image.

What “Highlight Mouse” does—and does not do
Awesome Screenshot’s recording guide describes using the Control Bar and Annotation Tools to highlight part of the screen or the mouse cursor while recording. It covers recording modes such as Desktop/Screen and This Tab or Custom (This Tab). It does not document that control as a way to hide the pointer from a still screenshot. Awesome Screenshot Help Center describes the recording feature in its guide updated June 26, 2025.

Likewise, when you choose Selected Area, the screenshot instructions describe the pointer changing to a plus sign as you drag to mark the region. They do not specify whether the pointer is included in the final image. A selection cursor shown while choosing an area is not, by itself, evidence of what the saved screenshot contains.
Do not apply Apple’s video-capture setting to this screenshot question
Apple documents an AVFoundation property named AVCaptureScreenInput.capturesCursor; setting it to false makes the pointer invisible in captured video through that API. That is a video-capture API setting, not evidence that Awesome Screenshot exposes or uses it, and it does not establish how Awesome Screenshot handles still images. It is not a supported fix for this question.

Does changing the delay hide the cursor?
No cursor-hiding effect is documented for the delay options. The hover-content guide describes using delays to let page content appear after a hover; it does not say those options remove the pointer from the saved image.
