In Streamlabs’ setup guide, creators choose products, upload designs, set listing names and prices, select variants and images, then publish. Streamlabs handles printing and shipping; the guide describes designing and selling through the store as free. Check current product availability, minimum prices, and fees in your own account before setting a retail price.

The guide explains that the creator’s profit is the amount above an item’s minimum retail price, minus PayPal fees. In practical terms, a higher retail price can create more room for earnings, but it can also make an item less affordable to viewers. Consider your audience’s budget and compare similar designs before choosing a price; there is no single price that suits every channel.

Streamlabs’ YouTube merch guidance suggests balancing affordable options with limited-edition, higher-priced items for dedicated fans. That is platform advice, not proof that a particular product mix or price will sell better. Start with a manageable range, make each item’s price and options easy to understand, and use your own clicks and purchases to judge what to keep.

Make each listing and storefront easy to understand
A viewer should be able to tell what an item is, what it costs, and which options are available without hunting through the store. Choose clear listing names, select the relevant variants, and use the product images available in the setup flow. Streamlabs documents customization for storefront typography, colors, banners, and themes. Its setup guide also says Ultra subscribers can upload custom product images. These presentation options are controllable, but Streamlabs’ documentation does not establish a measured conversion gain from using them.
Before publishing, review the store as a viewer would: check that the design is legible at the displayed size, the product and options match what you intend to offer, and the price is visible. If you are considering Streamlabs Ultra for special products, pricing, or custom imagery, compare its current subscription cost and product terms with your likely sales; Streamlabs’ guides do not provide a break-even calculation or show that Ultra is profitable for an individual creator.
Put the store where viewers already look
Streamlabs’ discoverability guide recommends linking to the store from Twitch, YouTube, social profiles, and other audience-facing pages. You can also link directly to a selected product when that is more relevant than sending viewers to the full store.

Install and activate it if you want viewers to reach merchandise there.
- YouTube channel: Eligible creators can connect the store to YouTube’s Merch Shelf. Streamlabs’ integration guide describes managing items through its YouTube tab; eligibility is not universal, so verify the current requirements before planning around the shelf.
- Other touchpoints: Add the link to relevant video descriptions, channel pages, and social profiles, and mention it when the content naturally connects to the product.
Give viewers a reason to notice the store
Streamlabs suggests talking about products in streams or videos, announcing a launch, wearing the merchandise on camera, refreshing designs, and trying limited editions, giveaways, or design contests. These are ideas to test, not guaranteed sales drivers. A reminder can help viewers find the store, but Streamlabs specifically cautions against spamming them with timers.
Make each promotion specific: show or describe the item, tell viewers where to find it, and explain any genuine deadline or limited availability. Do not imply that an item is limited if it is not. When you change one thing—such as a design, placement, or launch announcement—compare results over a defined period with your usual activity as context. Record store-link clicks and purchases if you can; those results are more useful for your channel than a general claim that a tactic works for everyone.

Connect the store to YouTube’s Merch Shelf only if eligible
The Merch Shelf can put products on a YouTube channel, but access depends on YouTube’s current requirements. Streamlabs’ integration guide identifies conditions involving channel monetization, supported countries, channel type and subscriber count, made-for-kids settings, policy compliance, and strikes. These rules can change; check YouTube’s current eligibility information and Streamlabs’ connection instructions before relying on the feature. If your channel is not eligible, use ordinary links in your channel and content instead.
Measure your own results, not a promised sales lift
The Streamlabs guides provide recommendations and setup instructions, not a sales experiment, conversion rate, or measured revenue change attributable to any promotion. Keep a simple record of what you changed, when you changed it, where the store link appeared, and the clicks and purchases you can observe. Compare like periods where possible, since stream schedules, audience size, and content can also affect results. If a tactic does not help your own audience find or buy the products, adjust it rather than assuming it should work because it is recommended.
