How to Get Xfinity Stream on a Hisense Smart TV

Xfinity Stream may not be available as a native app on your Hisense TV. Check the model’s app store or use a compatible Roku or Chromecast with Google TV.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You may be able to watch Xfinity Stream on a Hisense TV, but Xfinity does not list Hisense among its supported native TV-app platforms. Check the app store on your exact TV model first. If Xfinity Stream is not available there, the most dependable documented options are a compatible Roku or Chromecast with Google TV connected to HDMI; casting to the TV’s built-in Chromecast or using AirPlay may work on compatible models, but neither is guaranteed across Hisense TVs.

Can you download Xfinity Stream on a Hisense TV?

Possibly, but there is no universal Hisense installation path established by Xfinity. Its supported TV-platform list names Fire TV, Apple TV, LG, Roku, Samsung, and Xumo—not Hisense. Hisense models use different operating systems and app stores, so availability on one model does not establish availability on another.

  1. Open the app store or app-search function on the Hisense TV.
  2. Search for Xfinity Stream. If it appears, check that the listing is offered for your exact model, then follow the on-screen sign-in or activation instructions.
  3. If it does not appear, use an external streaming player or a compatible casting option rather than assuming the app can be installed by another method.

Which way to watch should you choose?

Option Best for What to check
Hisense app store Watching directly through the TV, if the app is listed for that model Xfinity does not name Hisense as a supported native TV platform; confirm availability on the exact TV.
Roku on HDMI A documented Xfinity Stream TV app and activation process The Roku must be eligible and running firmware 11.0 or later, according to Xfinity’s Roku setup instructions.
Chromecast with Google TV on HDMI A supported external receiver for casting or using its TV interface Xfinity identifies Chromecast with Google TV 4K and HD as fully supported; see its Chromecast guidance.
Hisense built-in Chromecast Trying to cast without adding another HDMI device Compatibility and performance vary by manufacturer, according to Xfinity; Hisense support is not guaranteed.
AirPlay Watching from an iPhone or iPad on a TV model that supports AirPlay Confirm AirPlay support for your model and meet the app and iOS requirements in Xfinity’s AirPlay instructions.

If you want the clearest documented route and do not mind using a separate device, choose an eligible Roku or a fully supported Chromecast with Google TV. Check the player’s eligibility and your TV’s available HDMI connections before buying.

Set up Xfinity Stream through Roku

  1. Connect an eligible Roku player to an HDMI port on the Hisense TV and complete Roku setup.
  2. Make sure the Roku firmware is version 11.0 or later. Xfinity says its Stream app appears in the Roku Channel Store only on eligible devices.
  3. Find Xfinity Stream in the Roku Channel Store, open the app, and choose Sign In.
  4. On a phone, tablet, or computer, go to xfinity.com/authorize and enter the six-digit activation code displayed on the TV.
  5. Sign in with your Xfinity ID, accept the activation terms on the TV, name the device, and confirm.

If activation says the device can access Stream only on in-home Wi-Fi and your account has multiple linked Xfinity accounts, Xfinity advises selecting the desired account as the primary account in linked-account settings.

Cast to a Chromecast or Hisense TV’s built-in receiver

Use an external Chromecast with Google TV

Xfinity identifies Chromecast with Google TV in both 4K and HD, along with Chromecast Ultra, as fully supported Chromecast devices. For a separate Chromecast receiver, connect it to HDMI; Xfinity says the HDMI port must support at least HDCP 1.3.

  1. Connect the Chromecast and finish its setup.
  2. Sign in to Xfinity Stream on a supported phone or tablet, or use the Stream portal.
  3. Put the phone or tablet and Chromecast on the same Wi-Fi network.
  4. Tap the Cast icon, select the Chromecast, and start a program.

Try the TV’s embedded Chromecast

If your Hisense model has a Chromecast receiver, you can try the same casting steps. Xfinity cautions that support and performance vary by manufacturer. If the TV does not appear as a cast target, reports an unsupported device, or remains stuck at “Ready to Cast,” use a fully supported external Chromecast device instead.

Use AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad

This option requires a Hisense model that supports AirPlay; Xfinity does not certify specific Hisense models in its AirPlay guidance. Xfinity lists Xfinity Stream app version 7.8.0 or later and iOS 17.0 or later as requirements for the iPhone or iPad.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Confirm that your Hisense TV supports AirPlay and that the iPhone or iPad meets the software requirements.
  2. Open Xfinity Stream on the Apple device and tap the cast icon.
  3. Choose AirPlay and Bluetooth Devices, then select the TV.
  4. Enter the four-digit code on the Apple device if the TV displays one. If prompted, allow local-network access for the app.

What Xfinity account and network do you need?

Xfinity says its customers can sign in to Stream, but the available programming depends on the service attached to the account. An Xfinity TV subscription is not required to use the app or portal; customers without video service receive a different selection. The full TV lineup and full On Demand library require the in-home Xfinity network. Away from home, internet or cellular data charges may apply.
