Tap the Home control in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. If VoiceView (Amazon’s screen reader) is turned on, swipe up and then left with one finger in a single motion instead.
Standard method: the Home control
Look at the bottom of the screen for the system navigation area. Amazon’s VoiceView guide places the Home button near the bottom middle of the soft key bar. Tap it from any app to return to the Home screen. Amazon Customer Service: VoiceView guide

If VoiceView is on: use the Home gesture
VoiceView changes how touch works. You first focus an item, then double-tap to activate it. Amazon documents the Home gesture as: “Go to the Home screen | Swipe up then left with one finger in a single motion.” The Home button remains an alternative. Source

When the tablet doesn’t respond as expected
Amazon says accessibility features can make a Fire tablet work differently, including with different gestures. If the tablet speaks when you touch it, or taps don’t behave normally, VoiceView may be enabled. Check Settings > Accessibility for the VoiceView options. VoiceView is only one possible cause, so don’t assume it explains every navigation problem.
Why the bar may look different on your tablet
Amazon’s developer documentation says Fire OS 5 shows the Android navigation bar at the bottom. Earlier Fire OS versions used a soft key bar with Home and Back buttons. Amazon Developer: Soft Key Bar Amazon’s pages don’t establish the exact look or layout on every current model. Look for the system navigation area at the bottom of the screen and find the Home control there.

Other accessibility setups
