Dumpster Dive Sprite is a chance-based find in Fortnite, not something you get by searching a literal dumpster. Current guides list Cheat Codes, seasonal Pumpkin Chests, rare chests, gold fishing spots and roaming Sprites as possible ways to encounter one. If you also want the Jimothy Locker reward, carry the Sprite to a physical Extraction Site; VICE reports that a portable extractor did not count in its test.
Ways to find the Dumpster Dive Sprite
Fortnite’s Dumpster Dive Sprite is one of the community-designed Sprites for Season 4. Epic credits its design to StinkyPrincessGoose, one of five winners in the Design-A-Sprite contest. Epic says it received over 20,000 community Sprite designs and that the winning designs were planned for mid-season updates. Epic’s announcement does not give a specific acquisition method for this Sprite.

What the Dumpster Dive Sprite does
Beebom describes its effect as food-related: it can grant bonus healing, and food may appear when you leave a hiding prop. The guide says food has a smaller chance to appear from containers as well. Its reported healing bonuses are:

How to get Jimothy from an extraction
VICE reports that extracting any Dumpster Dive Sprite variant at a physical Extraction Site completes the hidden “Extract A Silly Little Guy” quest and grants Jimothy in the Locker. In VICE’s test, a portable extractor did not count, so use a site on the map if you are pursuing this reward.

The reported Jimothy unlock is seasonal. A guide estimates the free-unlock window as October 1–31, 2026, but Epic’s contest announcement does not confirm that deadline. Check the live game for current quest availability rather than relying on an exact end date from that estimate.

Can the Sprite return in a later season?
Epic says Sprites from past generations may return in the future, but that is a general statement about the Sprite collection—not a specific promise that Dumpster Dive Sprite will return. Its availability should be treated as season-dependent unless Epic or the live game confirms otherwise.
