Use ChangeDetection.io to watch the Indian website and send change notifications to Telegram. It supports Telegram notifications and screenshot alerts, but screenshot attachments depend on the notification configuration and are not guaranteed for every Telegram setup. Configure a watch, connect Telegram, enable screenshot notifications if available, and send a test before relying on it.
What you need to set up
- The page URL you want to monitor. The site being hosted in India does not require a different ChangeDetection.io workflow.
- A ChangeDetection.io account on its hosted service, or a server where you can install and operate the open-source application.
- A Telegram notification destination configured in ChangeDetection.io.
- A test run to verify both that a change is detected and whether the notification actually includes a screenshot.
ChangeDetection.io documents Telegram among its notification integrations and advertises screenshot notifications for changed pages. However, its API describes screenshot inclusion as disabled by default and conditional on the notification URL supporting it. Treat an attached image as something to verify, not a guaranteed part of every Telegram alert. See the project documentation and API documentation.

Set up a Telegram change alert
- Open ChangeDetection.io. Sign in to the hosted service or start your self-hosted instance.
- Add a watch. Enter the Indian website page URL you want monitored and start the watch. The vendor’s setup tutorial describes adding a page URL and starting a watch.
- Choose a check interval. Set the interval available to your account or installation. A shorter interval can detect changes sooner, but do not assume it guarantees an alert by a particular time; hosted frequency depends on current plan terms and actual delivery.
- Limit monitoring to useful content if needed. If rotating banners, timestamps, or other changing page elements create noise, use the application’s selectors or filters to focus on the relevant part of the page. The project documents filters and selectors; its tutorial also describes selecting page elements.
- Configure Telegram notification settings. Add Telegram as the notification destination using the current application’s notification settings. Telegram is a documented integration; follow the fields and setup guidance shown by your installed or hosted version.
- Enable screenshot notification where supported. The screenshot option is off by default in the API schema. Enable it for the watch or notification configuration if exposed, and confirm the configured notification destination supports it.
- Test an actual change. Trigger or wait for a known page change, then confirm the alert arrives in Telegram. Inspect whether the message contains a screenshot. If it does not, retain the text alert and treat screenshot delivery as unsupported for that specific configuration until you resolve it.
Handle JavaScript-rendered or interactive pages
A basic fetch may not see the same page a visitor sees when content is rendered by JavaScript or appears only after interaction. ChangeDetection.io documents browser-based fetching with Chrome and browser steps; use a Chrome/Playwright-capable fetcher when the plain fetcher does not capture the page content you need. The project also notes that visual selection requires Playwright. Browser-based fetching adds setup and resource overhead compared with a fast non-JavaScript fetcher, so use it only when the page requires it. See the project README.

Why alerts may be noisy or incomplete
- Visual changes may not produce a useful content diff. The monitor detects changes in what it fetches; a visual-only change may not map neatly to the text or content comparison. Test the target page and tune its fetcher and monitored area.
- Dynamic content can cause false alarms. Ads, clocks, rotating content, and other changing elements can create repeated diffs. Narrow the selected content or apply filters where appropriate.
- A screenshot is not guaranteed in Telegram. The API says the screenshot option is disabled by default and conditional on notification URL support. Test the exact notification setup rather than assuming every alert will include an image.
- Checks and delivery are not identical to instant notification. The configured check schedule, page loading, and notification delivery all affect when you see an alert. The hosted service’s approximately five-minute recheck claim is not an end-to-end latency guarantee.
Troubleshooting
No Telegram alert arrives
Confirm Telegram is selected and configured in the current application’s notification settings, then use its test facility if available. Verify that the watch is active and that a real change is detected. If no test message arrives, recheck the destination configuration before changing the page fetcher.
The alert arrives without an image
Check whether screenshot notification is enabled; it is off by default in the API schema. Then verify that the configured notification URL supports screenshot attachments. Since support is integration-dependent, successful text delivery does not prove that screenshot delivery is available.

The monitor reports no change on a visibly changed page
Check whether the page renders after JavaScript executes or requires interaction. Switch to a Chrome/Playwright-capable fetcher and configure browser steps as needed. If it is already browser-rendered, narrow or adjust the monitored selector so the relevant content is included.
Alerts keep firing for irrelevant changes
Inspect which page elements changed, then use selectors or filters to exclude volatile content or monitor only the section that matters. Re-test after each adjustment so meaningful changes are not filtered out.

Keep the alert workflow dependable
- Confirm a known change produces a Telegram notification before depending on the watch.
- Verify separately whether the alert includes an image; screenshot support is configuration-dependent.
- Use browser rendering only for pages that need JavaScript or interactions, and refine selectors or filters if changes are noisy.
- Review the hosted service’s current interval and plan terms if using its cloud monitoring.

Can I use a screenshot API alone to get alerts when a page changes?
