Choose an experience that fits how you like to play
Riot’s games offer different formats, so pick one for the kind of experience you want rather than treating any as an MMO course. Riot’s games overview lists League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra among its Runeterra-related games.

Try a standalone story or book only if the format appeals
Standalone story games
Riot Forge’s explainer described its goal as “bespoke, completable game experiences” connecting players with Runeterra’s champions and places through stories and design. That is a description of Riot Forge’s stated approach in that article, not confirmation of which titles are available now. A physical novel
Riot’s lore index references Ruination: A League of Legends Novel. It is an optional long-form reading route, not established preparation for the MMO. - Browse: Pick one champion story or comic in Riot’s lore index.
- Choose a format: Try one of Riot’s games if you want to play, or leave games aside if reading is enough for now.
