Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesUse a website change monitor to check the page on a schedule, watch the banner area, and send an alert when its configured change conditions are met. Choose a visual monitor that can select a region or element, set a practical check interval, and review the before-and-after screenshots when an alert arrives. Alerts are not instantaneous: the monitor must check the page after the change.
Set up an alert for a changing banner
- Copy the exact page URL. Use the page where the banner appears. A monitor can only inspect the page state its browser or cloud runner can access; sign-in requirements, interactive steps, or access blocks may prevent it from seeing the banner.
- Select the banner area. If the banner stays in one place and the service can isolate it, monitor that region or element rather than the whole page. This can reduce alerts caused by unrelated changes. Choose whole-page monitoring if the banner moves or you cannot reliably isolate it.
- Set a change criterion. If available, specify the change that matters, such as a change to the banner’s image or text. Watching for any change can produce irrelevant alerts; narrower conditions help focus notifications.
- Choose a check interval and notification channel. Match the frequency to how quickly you need to know, within the service’s available settings and plan. Enable email, push, or another supported channel. The monitor can alert only after a check runs and detects a qualifying change.
- Review the first alert. Compare the previous and current screenshots or visual history. If the alert reflects an unrelated page update, narrow the selection or refine the criteria. If it misses a banner update, confirm the monitor can access the same page state you see.
Visualping’s setup guide puts the timing limitation plainly: “Changes are not detected as soon as they happen, a check needs to happen before you can be alerted.” Visualping Help Center documents whole-page or area selection, change criteria, check frequency, and notifications. Its alert guidance describes emails with previous and current page images and highlighted additions and deletions. Visualping notification guidance also lists reasons an alert may not arrive, including no check after the change, disabled email notifications, a muted workspace, or a change that does not meet the monitor settings.
Choose cloud or local monitoring
The important practical difference is where scheduled checks run. A cloud monitor runs on the provider’s servers, so your computer can be off. A local monitor runs on your device or browser and requires the relevant app or browser to remain available.

| Device availability | Your computer does not need to stay on | The relevant device and app or browser must remain open |

Distill documents both local and cloud monitors, optional conditions, and channels including email, SMS, mobile push, Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and webhook-integrated apps. Its change history can display visual, text, and source views. The source view shows source differences when content changes are detected; it is not a guarantee that every raw source change will trigger an alert. Check the service’s current plan terms and channel availability before relying on a particular option. Distill documentation describes its monitoring workflow and operating modes; its visual change history documentation explains the review views and notification conditions.
Troubleshoot missed or noisy alerts
No alert arrived
- Check whether a scheduled run took place after the banner changed. The monitor cannot report a change it has not checked yet.
- Confirm that the relevant notification channel is enabled and that workspace or monitor notifications are not muted.
- Review the monitor’s criteria. A detected page change may not satisfy the condition required to send a notification.
- Check whether the monitor can access the page in the needed state. Login walls, interactive consent steps, or access blocks can keep it from seeing the banner.
Too many irrelevant alerts
- Switch from whole-page monitoring to the stable banner region or element, if supported.
- Replace an any-change trigger with a more specific condition for the banner’s text or image, if the service offers it.
- Inspect the visual comparison or change history to identify what changed outside the banner, then adjust the monitored scope.
The banner moves or loads late
If the banner’s position changes, region-based selection may no longer cover it; use whole-page monitoring or update the selection. If the page renders the banner only after interaction or a delay, verify that the monitor’s browser can reach that state before depending on alerts. Compatibility with every site or interactive state is not established by the cited service documentation.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its API can take a screenshot of a page on request; it is not a scheduled change monitor, so you would still need a scheduler or monitoring workflow to compare captures and send alerts. One request returns an image or PDF:

Will I be notified the moment a banner changes?
No. A monitor must run a check after the change before it can detect and report it.
Rank #2
Can a screenshot API by itself send alerts when a banner changes?
A screenshot API captures a page when requested; scheduled checks, comparison, and notification delivery require a separate monitoring or automation workflow.
