Monster Hunter: World has a skip prompt for cutscenes the game marks as skippable, but Capcom’s documentation does not say that the main-story ending credits can be skipped. Player reports also describe those credits as unskippable through the usual in-game controls, so there is no verified credits-skip command.
What to try while the credits are rolling
-
Check the screen for an on-screen skip prompt. Capcom’s August 2, 2018 Title Update 4 notes say a prompt appears when a player presses a button other than Options during a cutscene that is skippable. That instruction applies to scenes identified by the game as skippable; it does not establish that the ending credits have a skip control.

If no prompt appears, the available official documentation does not provide another credits-specific button or command. The main-story credits are described as unskippable in player reports, which corroborate the practical answer but are not an official Capcom declaration.

Why a cutscene skip prompt may not work on the credits
The game’s documented prompt is conditional: it appears for a cutscene that can be skipped. Seeing it during another scene does not mean every cinematic uses the same control. The Title Update 4 note does not name the ending credits or specify a credits-skip input.
#1 Best Overall
- Welcome to the new world: taking on the role of a Hunter, players are tasked with going on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent known only as “new world”.
- Living and breathing ecosystem: utilize the surrounding environment and wildlife to your advantage;Subgenre:Action role-playing game (RPG)
- Online drop-in multiplayer: when the battle is too daunting to take on single-handedly, hail up to three other hunters to assist during quests by sending up a sos flare to a worldwide server.
- Hunt to craft new Gear: defeat monsters and collect loot from fallen foes to craft equipment and weapons styled after the monsters that have been slain.
- SEAMLESS gameplay: players and monsters can move from One map area to another freely and without loading screens whilst gameplay also dynamically transitions between night and day.
Controls also vary by platform and configuration. Capcom’s platform support and FAQ page distinguishes PC mouse-and-keyboard controls from console controls. For skippable scenes, follow the prompt shown in your own game rather than assuming a universal key such as Esc or a particular console button. The support page does not document a credits-skip control.
Can quitting and reloading get past the credits?
A Steam community user reported saving, closing the game, and reloading as a way to bypass the credits: the reported workaround. Treat this as an unverified anecdote, not a guaranteed method. The report does not establish that it works consistently, applies to every PC save state, or works on PlayStation or Xbox. If you consider trying it, pay attention to the game’s save state before closing; the source does not provide a reliable, platform-wide procedure.
