There are two different ways to get involved: watch for an invitation to YouTube’s invite-only Creator Community if you want peer learning and program support, or enable a Community on your own channel to encourage conversation with subscribers. The first is not an open sign-up program; the second depends on feature eligibility and setup requirements.
Choose the kind of community you mean

How to join YouTube’s invite-only Creator Community
YouTube describes the Creator Community as an educational program that connects creators with a Community Partner Manager and peers. Its listed benefits include newsletters, workshops, events, and group support. The official Creator Community information and FAQ says to watch your email or YouTube Studio for enrollment details; creators who are accepted receive next steps. The guidance does not offer a universal public application form.
Understand the general eligibility considerations
YouTube says it generally works with active channels in regions where Community Partner Managers are available. Other considerations include growth potential, having no Community Guidelines strikes, having no more than one unresolved copyright strike, and publishing advertiser-friendly content. Respectful participation at events and workshops is also expected.

These are general considerations, not a guaranteed admission checklist. Invitations are limited, and regional availability may change. YouTube says access may be withdrawn if a creator no longer meets its criteria or violates its guidelines.
Know what the program involves
The program begins with a bootcamp lasting up to 12 weeks. Sessions run for 30–45 minutes weekly or biweekly; some may be prerecorded for creators who cannot attend. The current page lists three tracks: YouTube Shopping, Channel Memberships, and vertical live. During intake, a Community Partner Manager reviews a creator’s content, goals, and audience behavior and assigns a suitable track; the listed tracks are not necessarily options each participant can freely choose.

After the bootcamp, graduates move into the ongoing Creator Community for continued peer networking, events, and group support. Check whether your channel qualifies
YouTube’s cited Android setup guidance says the creator must have access to posts and be over 16. The channel must not be a supervised-experience channel, have its audience set as made for kids, or be a VEVO channel. Feature availability and labels can change; check YouTube’s current instructions if the options below do not match your app.
Enable the feature in the YouTube app
- Open the YouTube app and go to your channel page.
- Select Posts.
- Tap Turn on my Community.
- Follow the Get Started banner to complete setup.
Launch with a clear invitation
- Publish a welcome post explaining what the space is for and what kinds of discussion you hope to see.
- Ask a specific question connected to a recent video—for example, invite viewers to share which idea they would like to see explored next.
- Tell viewers about the Community in a video or through other channels you use.
- Keep the space active with regular prompts, respond to subscribers’ posts, and establish shared traditions or recognize milestones.
YouTube’s guidance on building a Community recommends regular conversation, creator participation, and recognition. A prompt works best when it gives people something concrete to answer rather than asking for engagement without a topic.

Set expectations and moderate the conversation
Decide how you want people to treat one another before discussions grow. YouTube lets creators manage who can post or hold content for review, and creators can consider assigning trusted moderators. Channel guidelines can state expectations such as being civil, staying on topic, welcoming questions, and avoiding spam.
YouTube notes that custom channel guidelines do not automatically hide or remove comments or posts. They tell viewers what conduct you expect; YouTube’s Community Guidelines still apply to platform interactions and content, including comments, links, posts, and thumbnails. For specifics about restrictions and enforcement, consult the current policy pages rather than assuming a particular consequence.
