Get Identities in Limbus Company through Extraction or, when the Identity is eligible, by exchanging the corresponding Sinner’s shards in the Dispenser. To strengthen one, raise its level with combat experience or Experience tickets, then use Thread and other listed materials to increase its Uptie tier. Level and Uptie are separate upgrades.

An Identity is a playable version of one of the Sinners, with its own combat kit. Project Moon describes the idea as “A different possibility borrowed from the myriad of dimensions.” The game’s official site gives that fictional framing; the Identity reference covers the progression mechanics.

How to get an Identity
Use Extraction for a chance at an Identity
Extraction is the game’s gacha system and uses Lunacy. Check the banner shown in the live game before spending: featured content and availability change, and the sources here do not establish current banner odds or which Identity is featured. A beginner guide explains the general system, but the client is the authority for the active banner.
Use the Dispenser for a targeted purchase
The Dispenser lets you exchange the appropriate Sinner-specific shards for an eligible Identity. This is the more targeted route when the Identity you want is listed and you have enough of its shards. Do not assume every new or limited Identity is immediately available: check the live Dispenser listing and its displayed requirements before planning around a purchase.
Understand duplicates and shards
According to the beginner guide, duplicate Identity pulls convert into character shards. Shards can support direct acquisition and may also be used in upgrade-related exchanges. The amount received and the current exchange rules are not established here, so rely on the game’s displayed values rather than older cost tables.

Choose a route based on your resources
- If you want a specific Identity, first check whether it is eligible in the Dispenser and whether you have the matching Sinner shards.
- If you are considering Extraction, inspect the active banner and decide whether spending Lunacy on a chance is preferable to saving resources for a targeted purchase.
- Weigh a new Identity against strengthening one you already use; both leveling and Uptie require resources.
How to upgrade an Identity
Raise its level
Levels improve an Identity’s progression separately from Uptie. The cited Prydwen overview describes gaining experience through combat or using Experience tickets for direct leveling. Check the Identity’s current level and the game’s displayed ticket requirements before applying tickets.
Increase its Uptie tier
Uptie is the tier-based upgrade path. Thread is its core resource, and the Identity reference describes tiers as enhancing or upgrading skills and passives, with possible improvements to speed or additional kit elements. The required materials and costs depend on the Identity and tier; consult the in-game Uptie screen for the exact next-tier requirements. The Thread reference describes its use, while the Identity reference explains tier effects.

Plan resource spending before committing
Because requirements vary, estimate the cost for the specific Identity and target tier rather than relying on a universal total. The Eldritch Tools Manager’s Guide documents a Dispenser and training calculator that can help with planning. Treat its estimates as a guide and confirm the current totals in the game before spending.
