Find the value of the list parameter in the YouTube URL. In a link that contains both v= and list=, v identifies the video; list identifies the playlist.
Find the playlist ID in a YouTube URL
- Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar or the shared link.
- Find the question mark (
?), which starts the URL’s query parameters. - Look for
list=and copy the value after it. Stop at the next ampersand (&) or the end of the URL.
For example, in https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL123&other=value, the playlist ID is PL123. Keep the value exactly as it appears; it cannot be reliably inferred from a playlist’s name.

Tell the playlist ID apart from other IDs
A YouTube URL can contain more than one identifier. In a watch URL with both parameters, the v value identifies the video, while the list value identifies the playlist. YouTube describes a playlist’s id as “The ID that YouTube uses to uniquely identify the playlist” in its Playlists resource reference.

The YouTube Data API documents playlist items separately in its PlaylistItems resource reference.
If the URL has no visible list parameter
Some sharing links or redirects may not show the playlist ID directly, and YouTube’s documentation does not establish how every link format resolves. Open the link in a browser and inspect the resulting playlist page URL for list=. If you already have the ID, the YouTube Data API’s playlists.list method can retrieve playlist resources using playlist IDs; it does not discover an ID from an unresolved link.
Or let it run in the cloud
