To make websites see a Haiti-based public IP while you are abroad, connect through a VPN server located in Haiti. Proton VPN says Haiti is selectable on its paid plan, while its free plan does not include free Haiti servers. Check the provider’s current server list and plan terms before subscribing, because locations can change.
Get a Haiti IP address from outside Haiti
A VPN routes your internet traffic through a provider’s server. When you connect to a Haiti endpoint, websites generally see that server’s public IP rather than the public IP assigned by your local internet provider. Proton VPN’s Haiti page says users need a paid plan to select Haiti and describes choosing the country in its app: Proton VPN’s Haiti server information.

- Confirm Haiti is currently available. Check the VPN’s server-location list and the plan requirements. Proton’s cited page says Haiti selection requires a paid plan; that statement applies to Proton, not every VPN provider.
- Install the VPN app. Download the app from the provider for the device you want to use.
- Sign in and select Haiti. Open the app’s country or location list, choose Haiti, and connect.
- Check the apparent public IP. Use an IP lookup service to see the IP address and country it reports. For example, IPinfo’s Access Haiti network page includes an example address associated with Port-au-Prince. That record does not verify a VPN endpoint, and IP geolocation databases can disagree.
- Try the service you need. Test the specific website or app after connecting; a Haiti IP does not guarantee that a service will accept the connection.
What a Haiti VPN connection does—and does not—change
A VPN changes the public IP route a destination sees. It does not, by itself, change your device’s GPS location or prove that the device is physically in Haiti. Services may also use VPN detection, account details, device signals, or other checks when deciding whether to allow access.
Do not assume a Haiti endpoint will unlock a particular streaming, banking, or government service. Proton advertises streaming access, but that is the provider’s claim; the available evidence does not confirm compatibility with named platforms or establish results from a service-specific test. Check the destination service’s rules and test your own account.

VPN from abroad or internet service at an address in Haiti?
| Option | Where it applies | What it provides |
|---|---|---|
| VPN with a Haiti endpoint | For a user connecting from abroad | Routes traffic through a provider’s Haiti location. Verify the location and plan terms with the provider; acceptance by a destination service is not guaranteed. |
| Local ISP service | For someone who can receive service at an address in Haiti | Provides connectivity at that location. Hainet describes address-dependent service and advertises fixed-IP availability among some offers; confirm eligibility and terms with Hainet. See Hainet’s service information. |
Local ISP service is not a way to route your connection remotely from another country. A router, SIM card, or cable alone also cannot give a remote user a Haiti IP; the relevant capability is the network endpoint handling the traffic.
Why Haiti’s internet infrastructure is a separate issue
Haiti has local internet exchange infrastructure intended to keep local traffic in the country and support network resilience. AIXP describes its mission as keeping local traffic in Haiti, improving internet performance, and strengthening digital resilience through neutral, collaborative infrastructure. That is network infrastructure, not a consumer service for remotely acquiring a Haiti IP. See AIXP’s information.

An International Telecommunication Union report ranked Haiti 199th worldwide for secure internet servers per million people. It also reported assessed latency of 10 ms for fixed networks and 24 ms for mobile networks, describing those figures as within its standard levels for high-quality telecommunications services. These are report-period figures, not live 2026 performance measurements or a test of any VPN. See the ITU report.

Check the details before relying on the connection
- Endpoint and plan: Confirm Haiti is still listed and whether it requires a paid plan. Proton says its free plan does not include free Haiti servers.
- IP location: Check the apparent public IP after connecting. Lookup services estimate location, so a country label is not definitive proof of physical location.
- Service access: Test the exact site or app, and follow its account and access requirements. No service-specific compatibility is established here.
- Legal questions: The provider makes a claim about VPN legality in Haiti, but no official Haitian legal or regulator source is established here. This is not legal advice; the legality of particular conduct depends on applicable law.
