You can follow a cricket match without its video stream: open a live-score service, find the exact fixture, then use its scorecard and ball-by-ball text commentary. If you do not want to keep checking the page, turn on match notifications where the app offers them. Audio may also be available for some tournaments, but it is not a universal substitute for video.
Follow the score with a scorecard and text commentary
- Find the fixture. Search the teams or match on a live-score service such as Cricbuzz or ESPNcricinfo. Check the competition and match details before opening it; listings can vary and change.
- Open the match page. Use the scorecard for the current score and match figures. For play-by-play context, open ball-by-ball text commentary where available. ESPNcricinfo describes both full scorecards and ball-by-ball commentary in its app; Cricbuzz publishes live-score listings and match score states.
- Enable an alert if useful. If the app offers notifications for that match, enable them to follow selected updates without leaving the score page open. Cricbuzz promotes smart alerts, and ESPNcricinfo lists alerts among its app features. These are service feature claims, not independent tests of delivery speed, so do not count on an alert arriving instantly.
Choose the right fallback for your situation

Why a missing stream does not mean a missing score
Live scores and video streams are separate services. A match may appear on a score site even when you cannot access its video, while a score listing does not mean that a video stream is available to you. Streaming rights depend on the tournament and territory, and availability can change. An ICC broadcaster listing published January 13, 2023, illustrates regional variation but should not be treated as a current provider directory.

If you want an alternative to Cricbuzz on iPhone
Try ESPNcricinfo and check whether it lists the match and provides the scorecard, ball-by-ball commentary, or alerts you need. The useful test is whether the exact fixture is covered and which features are available for it—not whether one service is universally faster or more accurate. The cited service descriptions do not establish a controlled comparison of update speed, accuracy, accessibility, or advertising.
