The best replacement depends on what you watch: choose Hulu for a broad mix of current and past TV plus movies, Peacock Premium for NBC and Bravo shows, movies and sports, Apple TV for exclusive originals, or free ad-supported Tubi if avoiding another subscription matters most. No service is a like-for-like substitute for Paramount+ or Max, so check where your specific shows and films stream before canceling.
Choose by what you want to watch
| Service | Best fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hulu | Current TV, full and older seasons, movies, originals and kids programming | Hulu describes a broad on-demand mix. Some selected Hulu titles also appear in Disney+; availability varies by title. Hulu’s bundle and access details. |
| Peacock Premium | NBC and Bravo programming, movies, originals and sports | Movies, sports and Peacock Originals are not included with Peacock Select. Premium includes ads. Compare Peacock plans. |
| Apple TV | Exclusive Apple Original shows and films | Apple describes hundreds of originals and new releases weekly. Its subscription does not include other streaming subscriptions or titles available to rent or buy in the Apple TV app. Apple TV US. |
| Tubi | Watching movies and TV without paying a subscription | Tubi is free and ad-supported, so its viewing experience differs from a paid plan. Tubi. |
| Prime Video | Using one app to access Prime Video and optional paid add-on channels | Channel subscriptions cost extra and can be available with or without Prime. Rentals and purchases are separate from subscriptions. Amazon’s explanation of Prime Video Channels. |
These are different programming mixes, not interchangeable catalogs. A service’s inclusion here is not a claim that it carries the same titles as Paramount+ or Max.

How to find a replacement for a specific show or movie
- Search the exact title. Look it up on JustWatch US, which offers provider search and filters for price, genre, year, rating, country, runtime and age rating.
- Confirm with the service. Check the streaming service’s current catalog and terms before subscribing. JustWatch is a discovery tool; the service’s listing controls availability.
- Check the plan, not just the service name. Make sure the title or feature you want is included in that tier, and review ads, downloads and any other restrictions.
- Recheck before you cancel. Streaming rights and catalogs change. Hulu also points subscribers to its library and coming-and-going updates for current programming.

When a bundle makes sense—and when it does not
Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max
This bundle combines all three services, so it can suit someone who wants their libraries together for one monthly payment. It is not an alternative to Max on its own: it includes HBO Max, and the services remain in separate apps. Hulu says selected HBO Max content is available only in the HBO Max app; some selected Hulu titles appear in Disney+.

Prime Video add-on channels
Prime Video can serve as an app and billing hub for paid add-on subscriptions, but access through Prime Video does not make a channel free or included with Prime. Amazon says customers can subscribe to channels with or without Prime; check the price and cancellation terms for each add-on.
Check device support before subscribing
Confirm that the service works on your TV or streaming device before paying, particularly if you rely on an older model. Peacock and Tubi list Fire TV among supported platforms, and Prime Video is available on Fire TV. That does not establish compatibility for every model. An Amazon Fire TV Stick is one possible way to add streaming access to a compatible TV, not a required purchase or a guarantee that every app will run on every device.
