Then check the TV’s exact model and region, account and game eligibility, controller connection, network, and software—in that order. These problems have different causes, so a missing app needs a different fix from a game that launches but stutters.
1. Identify the problem before changing settings
- Xbox or Gaming Hub is missing: Check whether your exact TV model and country are supported, then check for a TV software update.
- The app opens, but sign-in or game launch fails: Check both Samsung and Microsoft/Xbox sign-in, your subscription, region, and whether the game is available to play in the cloud on your plan.
- You cannot navigate or control a game: Check controller compatibility, charge, Bluetooth pairing, and firmware.
- A game launches but buffers, disconnects, or looks poor: Test the TV’s network connection, then improve the connection and reduce competing network traffic.
- Other Gaming Hub services work but Xbox does not: Check Xbox service status and Xbox-specific support.
Samsung’s Gaming Hub troubleshooting guidance discusses compatible 2022-or-later TVs, while Xbox describes its app as available on select Samsung Smart TVs from 2020 onward. These statements cover different product and model scopes; neither year alone guarantees support. Check the current compatibility information for your exact model and market.

2. Confirm that your TV, region, and account are eligible
Xbox cloud gaming is available only on supported devices and in supported regions. Xbox lists select Samsung Smart TVs from 2020 onward, but the model family and year are not a complete compatibility check. Use Samsung’s Gaming Hub compatibility information to check your TV and market. Samsung also requires a Samsung Account and an internet connection for network-based smart services.
Most cloud-playable games require an active Game Pass plan that includes cloud access. Xbox lists select free-to-play games as an exception. Game availability depends on the region, plan, and platform, and titles can change; check the current Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog and the plan on the Microsoft account signed in on the TV. If games appear to be missing, verify that the TV is using the account with the relevant entitlement.

3. Reconnect a compatible controller
Xbox’s cloud-play requirements call for a compatible controller connected by Bluetooth or USB, although select games support touch controls. Pair the controller through the TV’s Bluetooth device settings. If it will not connect or respond:
- Charge the controller and put it into pairing mode.
- In the TV’s Bluetooth settings, remove its saved pairing if one exists, then pair it again.
- Restart the TV and controller, then try the game again.
- If possible, test another known-compatible controller to determine whether the problem is specific to the controller.
- Check for controller firmware instructions through Xbox controller support.
Compatibility can vary by TV and controller model. Confirm support for your specific devices before buying a replacement; a new controller will not fix an account, network, or service problem.

4. Test the TV’s connection and improve streaming conditions
Run Samsung’s Smart Hub Connection Test
On supported software, open All Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Smart Hub Connection Test. Menu names can differ by TV model and software version. If the test reports a connection problem, reconnect the TV to your router and resolve that TV-side error first. If it passes but cloud gaming is still poor, the test has not established that your connection has enough speed or stability for a good game stream.
Check speed and reduce interference
Xbox’s general cloud gaming guidance gives a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps, notes that some devices may need 20 Mbps for best quality, and recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Its TV guidance recommends a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi at 20 Mbps or higher for best performance. These are service recommendations, not guarantees: Xbox says results also depend on the connection, location, device, and other factors.

- If the TV supports Ethernet, test a wired connection.
- Otherwise, try 5 GHz Wi-Fi and move the TV closer to the router or access point.
- Pause large downloads and other demanding streams on the same network while testing.
- Check your actual internet speed and contact your internet provider if you find a broader connection problem.
5. Update the TV and check for an Xbox service problem
If Gaming Hub or Xbox is absent on a TV that appears eligible, install any available TV software update and restart the TV. Samsung recommends current firmware when Gaming Hub does not appear. If the TV and other Gaming Hub services work but Xbox alone fails, check Xbox service status and Xbox support rather than treating it as a general TV or Wi-Fi fault.

- Controller model and connection type
- Whether the TV uses Wi-Fi or Ethernet, plus the Smart Hub Connection Test result
Contact Samsung about TV, firmware, or Gaming Hub problems; contact Xbox about Microsoft account access, cloud-game catalog questions, or Xbox service issues. Avoid factory-resetting the TV as an early generic fix: the relevant checks are compatibility, sign-in and entitlement, controller, network, firmware, and service status.
