Then test whether the problem is the router, a downloaded app, or a pairing issue before resetting connection settings. The timing alone does not prove the update caused the problem.
Start with a restart and the connection basics
Restart the Galaxy first. For a forced restart, Samsung’s U.S. Wi‑Fi instructions say to press and hold the Side key and Volume down key together for more than 7 seconds, until the device restarts; the button procedure can vary by model. Samsung’s Wi‑Fi troubleshooting guide gives the steps.

For Wi‑Fi
- Confirm Wi‑Fi is turned on and recheck the network password.
- Move closer to the router and confirm it is powered on and connected to the internet.
- Restart the router and modem, then check whether other devices can detect and use the same network.
If other devices also cannot see or connect to the network, the problem may be with the router or network rather than the Galaxy. Samsung advises contacting the router manufacturer when the network fails on other devices. See the Samsung Canada Wi‑Fi troubleshooting guide.

For Bluetooth
- Make sure the accessory is powered on, nearby, and in pairing mode. The steps differ by accessory model, so follow its manufacturer’s instructions.
- If the accessory was paired to the Galaxy before, remove or unpair it in the phone’s Bluetooth settings, put the accessory back into pairing mode, and pair it again.
- For a car system, start discovery from the vehicle’s Bluetooth settings and follow the vehicle maker’s pairing instructions.

Use these tests to narrow down the cause
Test Wi‑Fi on another device
Try the same network on another phone, tablet, or computer. If the other device also fails, focus on the router or internet connection. If it works there, continue troubleshooting the Galaxy.
Test Wi‑Fi in Safe mode
Safe mode temporarily disables downloaded apps. If Wi‑Fi works in Safe mode, a downloaded app may be interfering. Restart the phone to exit Safe mode, then consider whether a recently installed or updated app could be involved. Samsung’s Wi‑Fi guide recommends this check.

Check software and diagnostics
Check whether a Galaxy software update is available, and install it if appropriate. You can also run Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth tests in Samsung Members under Phone diagnostics, where the app and device support those tests. Samsung’s Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth guidance describes these options.
Reset Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth settings only if needed
Try the reset after the simpler checks, because it can remove saved connection information. Samsung’s cited menu path is:

- Open Settings.
- Tap General management.
- Tap Reset.
- Choose Reset Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth settings.
- Tap Reset settings and confirm.
Menu names and locations can vary by Galaxy model and software version. After the reset, reconnect to Wi‑Fi networks and pair Bluetooth accessories again. Samsung describes this reset in its U.S. Wi‑Fi guide, Canada Wi‑Fi guide, and Bluetooth guide; its reconnection instructions explain setting connections up again.

- Wi‑Fi fails on several devices: Contact the router manufacturer or internet provider, especially if the router is not broadcasting the network.
- Bluetooth still will not connect: If pairing mode, removing and re-pairing, software checks, diagnostics, and the settings reset do not help, contact Samsung Support or a service center. For accessory-specific pairing problems, consult the accessory maker.
- The issue began after an update but remains unexplained: Tell support the Galaxy model, software version, when the issue began, and which troubleshooting steps you tried. A problem occurring after an update does not establish that the update caused it.
