If Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile data stopped working after an Android update, start by restarting your phone, then test each connection separately. The timing does not by itself prove the update caused the problem: the fault could be with the phone, router, mobile network, or Bluetooth accessory. These steps follow Google Android Help’s internet troubleshooting and its Bluetooth guidance; menu names may differ by phone.
First, find out which connection is failing
- Restart your phone.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and try loading a webpage or app over mobile data.
- Turn mobile data off and try the same task over Wi-Fi.
If only one connection fails, focus on its steps below. If both Wi-Fi and mobile data fail, check the phone’s connection settings and try another location or network where possible. Google’s general troubleshooting guidance does not establish that an Android update caused a particular failure.

Fix mobile data problems
- Open Settings and check that Mobile data or Cellular data is on. If it is already on, switch it off and back on.
- Turn Wi-Fi off so it cannot mask whether cellular service is working. Look for a mobile-data indicator beside the signal bars.
- Turn airplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off.
- If the phone shows no signal, try again in another location. If mobile data still does not work, contact your carrier.
Google’s mobile-data troubleshooting steps recommend checking the data setting and signal. A weak or absent signal in one place may point to coverage rather than a phone setting.

- In Settings, confirm Wi-Fi is on and check whether the phone shows that it is connected.
- If the signal is weak, move closer to the router and try again.
- If other devices also cannot use the home network, restart the router according to its manual. Google’s common sequence is to unplug it, wait 30 seconds, reconnect it, and allow it to come back online.
- If the phone connects to Wi-Fi but cannot access the internet, use Android’s Internet troubleshooting steps or ask the network host or internet service provider for help.
On supported phones, open the Internet panel and use its reset option to refresh the connection. Google warns that resetting the internet connection during a phone or video call ends that call. You can also forget a saved Wi-Fi network and join it again; see Google’s instructions for connecting to Wi-Fi. Some steps on that page are available only on Android 12 and later.
#1 Best Overall
- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.
- Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro). Battery: 5000 mAh, non-removable | A power adapter is NOT included.
Fix Bluetooth connection or audio problems
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on. Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled on both the phone and the accessory.
- Check whether the accessory is paired with the phone and shows as connected. Restart both devices, then try connecting again.
- For a car or other accessory, check its saved-device settings. If music does not play, make sure Media audio is enabled; for calls, check Phone audio.
- If the phone pairs but the feature you need still does not work, consult the accessory or vehicle manual. Not all cars support Bluetooth music or calls.
Google lists pairing, connection status, and audio settings as separate checks in its Bluetooth troubleshooting guide. A successful pairing does not necessarily mean the accessory supports every audio function.

When to contact a provider or manufacturer
- Mobile data still fails: contact your mobile carrier, particularly if the phone has no signal in multiple locations.
- Only one Wi-Fi network fails: contact the network host or internet service provider if restarting the router and reconnecting do not help.
- Bluetooth remains unreliable: check the accessory’s instructions and saved-device settings; contact its maker if the issue appears limited to that accessory.
- Settings are missing or the general steps fail: contact your phone manufacturer. Android settings and update schedules vary by device, manufacturer, and carrier, as Google notes in its Android version and update guidance.
