The timing alone does not prove the update caused the problem. Restart the phone, check for available software updates, then follow the troubleshooting steps for the affected connection. Use a network reset only if simpler steps fail: it can erase saved connection details.
Start by isolating the problem
Work out whether the issue affects Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data, or more than one connection. The scope can help narrow down where to look:

- Wi-Fi: Does the network appear in the list? Does the phone reject the password, or connect without internet? Can other devices use the same router?
- Bluetooth: Is one accessory affected, or can the phone connect to none of your Bluetooth devices?
- Mobile data: Is mobile data enabled, and does the phone have signal? Check whether calls or texts work, too.
Samsung lists temporary software errors, incorrect passwords, router problems, network settings, and sometimes third-party apps among possible Wi-Fi factors. These are possibilities to check, not a diagnosis of your phone.

- Restart your Galaxy phone or tablet, then test the affected connection again.
- If Wi-Fi is the problem, restart the router or access point. Check whether another device can connect to that network.
- Check for available Galaxy software updates in the device’s software-update settings. Samsung also describes updating with Smart Switch on a computer. The screens and update options vary by model, software version, and carrier; an available update is not guaranteed to address a particular connection fault.
Samsung says temporary software or system errors may interfere with Wi-Fi connections. A problem noticed after an update can still have another cause, so check the relevant network or accessory before assuming the update is responsible. Samsung Canada’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting guide was marked updated September 1, 2026, and Samsung US’s Galaxy update guide was consulted October 3, 2026.

Fix Wi-Fi that will not connect
- Make sure Wi-Fi is on, then check that you are entering the correct network password.
- Reconnect to the saved network. If the phone still will not connect, check the router’s status and test the same network with another device.
- If other devices connect but the Galaxy does not, try Safe mode to check whether a downloaded app may be involved. Restart the phone to exit Safe mode.
- If those checks do not help, consider a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings reset, if your device offers that option. Saved connection information may be removed, so you may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi and pair Bluetooth devices again.
Samsung’s guidance notes that menus and settings can differ across models and software versions. Its Canada and India Wi-Fi support pages, both marked updated September 1, 2026, provide device-specific troubleshooting context: Canada and India.
Fix Bluetooth that will not connect
- Open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. Select the problem device and unpair it.
- Put the accessory into pairing mode, then pair it with the Galaxy again.
- If pairing still fails, look under Settings > General management > Reset for a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings reset, if available on your device. This can remove saved connection information, including Wi-Fi details and Bluetooth pairings.
Menu names vary by model and software version. Samsung’s US Bluetooth troubleshooting guide recommends unpairing and pairing again, followed by resetting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings if needed.

Fix mobile data that is not working
- Confirm that Mobile data is on. If your Galaxy supports multiple SIMs, check that the correct SIM is selected for data.
- Check that the SIM is active, your plan and data allowance are available, and you have adequate network coverage.
- Restart the phone and test mobile data again. Samsung advises trying the connection after each troubleshooting step.
- If the problem continues, check mobile-network settings. Samsung India’s guidance also includes checking the data limit, automatic network mode, and restoring APN settings to default.
- If device-side checks do not restore service—particularly after a carrier change or where coverage may be weak—contact your carrier to check coverage, account status, SIM, or service provisioning.

Try a network-settings reset only after restarting, checking the relevant connection, and reconnecting to the network or accessory have failed. Depending on the Galaxy model and software version, reset choices may affect Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data, or other network settings. Read the reset screen before proceeding, and be prepared to reconnect to Wi-Fi and pair Bluetooth devices afterward.

A network-settings reset is not the same as a factory data reset. Do not choose a factory reset as a routine connection fix. For persistent Wi-Fi or Bluetooth problems, contact Samsung Support. For mobile-data service problems that remain after device checks, ask your carrier to investigate. Samsung’s support guidance is general: it does not establish that a particular update caused an individual failure or that a specific corrective update is available.
