Start by identifying which Titanfall 2 VR project you installed: TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin and CircuitLord’s separate-profile installer have different setup instructions. For TinyBlkDog’s mod, verify the game, Northstar, OpenXR runtime, and plugin files before troubleshooting; for poor frame rate, adjust the mod’s Resolution setting. Freezes and tracking symptoms do not have a documented universal fix, so record what happens and report reproducible details rather than guessing at the cause.

Check the installation and VR runtime before diagnosing symptoms
If you installed TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin
- Confirm that Titanfall 2 starts through Northstar, rather than launching the game by a different route.
- Confirm that the OpenXR runtime required by your setup is selected.
- Check that the plugin DLL and INI are in the Northstar plugins directory as the project instructions specify.
- Use that project’s current README if you need to recheck setup details: TinyBlkDog’s Titanfall 2 VR repository.
The project describes Virtual Desktop’s VDXR as its test environment; that is a report of the project’s test setup, not a universal requirement for every headset or runtime.

If you installed CircuitLord’s installer
Follow the installer’s own instructions, use its Launch in VR flow, and check the runtime guidance for your setup in the CircuitLord installer repository. Do not apply TinyBlkDog’s plugin file path or log instructions to this separate profile unless CircuitLord’s documentation confirms them.
Fix poor frame rate by adjusting resolution first
TinyBlkDog’s mod sets its published default resolution to 75%. Its README explains that the mod does not measure your GPU, so that default is intended for a card that may not be fast. This is a project-specific starting point, not a performance guarantee for your system.

- Open the mod’s settings panel while in the headset.
- Find Resolution. Lower the value if the frame rate is poor. If the image looks soft and the frame rate is stable, raise it gradually.
- Close the panel for the change to take effect, then check the same gameplay situation again.
- When describing a performance problem, include the Resolution value and note where and when the slowdown occurs.
The project’s controls reference documents 72 settings across eight categories. The project also notes that it uses alternate-frame stereo and can have occasional frame spikes. A brief hitch alone therefore does not establish that the GPU is underpowered. Change one setting at a time and record the headset, runtime, GPU, and conditions so the result is interpretable.
What to do when the game freezes
TinyBlkDog’s known-issues page documents lockups but does not establish a reliable trigger or a universal fix. It describes stalls every 20–40 seconds in a specific issue report; that interval is not a general rate for all players.

If the game becomes unresponsive, you may need to close it with Task Manager. Progress made since the last checkpoint may be lost. Save or reach checkpoints where possible while investigating.
The project notes suggest that some stalls may involve the streaming link, but label this explanation a hypothesis rather than a confirmed cause. If you use wireless PC VR, test the following as separate experiments, changing only one variable at a time:

- Compare your wireless setup with a wired connection.
- Try a lower streaming bitrate.
- Try a different codec, if your streaming software offers one.
Record whether the symptom changes and under what conditions. These tests can help narrow down a setup; none is documented as a guaranteed repair.

TinyBlkDog’s project describes 6DoF head tracking and an adjustable neck model. Its documentation says recentering is handled by the headset. The available issue notes do not establish a general cause for tracking drift; one described observation did not measure head movement against drift.

- Note whether the problem is lost tracking, gradual drift, an unexpected viewpoint, or a mismatch that happens only in a particular scene.
- Record the headset and OpenXR runtime, and state whether the symptom appears immediately or after playing for a while.
- Describe when it occurs and whether recentering through the headset changes it.
Without a reproducible pattern, it is not possible to conclude from the symptom alone that the headset is faulty or that the mod is responsible.
Report a reproducible issue with useful details
For TinyBlkDog’s project, include the information its repository requests so others can distinguish a mod issue from a setup-specific symptom:
- Mod version or build.
- Headset, OpenXR runtime, and GPU.
- Mission and activity when the issue occurs.
- Steps to reproduce the problem, if known.
- The first approximately 30 lines of
titanfall2vr.logfrom%LOCALAPPDATA%titanfall2vr. - For performance reports, the current Resolution value; for freezes, whether you use wireless streaming and which connection, bitrate, or codec tests you tried.
The log path above is specific to TinyBlkDog’s project. Do not assume it applies to CircuitLord’s installer or another mod; use that project’s own issue-report instructions instead.
Stay within the mod’s stated use boundaries
TinyBlkDog’s README says the mod is for single-player and warns: “Do not use this on official servers.” Keep troubleshooting within those stated boundaries.
