First identify the streaming app and the country where you’re watching: The Accountant 2 may be missing because it is not currently licensed in your region, or it may be a playback problem with the app, device, account, or connection. Then check whether other titles play on the same service. That distinction tells you which troubleshooting steps are worth trying.
Where can I stream The Accountant 2?
Availability depends on country and can change as streaming rights change. A US JustWatch listing checked September 10, 2026 showed The Accountant 2 on Hulu and Prime Video, including Prime Video with Ads. That is a dated US listing, not a guarantee of current availability or access in another country. Check the title in your service’s own catalog and open its official title page before troubleshooting playback. JustWatch’s US listing can be a useful cross-check; Hulu also has an official title page.

Make sure the result is the 2025 action thriller directed by Gavin O’Connor, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. Apple’s US listing gives its runtime as 2 hours 12 minutes, which can help distinguish it from similarly named results: Apple TV’s US title page.

If the service says the title is unavailable in your region, that may be a licensing restriction rather than a fault with your device. Tubi’s help center explains that a title-level regional notice can mean the title is not licensed in that country, and distinguishes it from a service-wide availability problem. It states: “This is due to regional licensing — the same reason a movie might be on one streaming service in the US and a different one in the UK.” See Tubi’s regional availability guidance.

Why won’t The Accountant 2 play? Check whether it’s one title or the whole service
Play a different film or show in the same app. This is a useful first diagnostic, not a guaranteed way to identify the cause:
- Only The Accountant 2 is missing or fails: check regional availability, the selected profile’s restrictions, and any message or error code shown for that title.
- Other titles fail too: investigate the connection, app, device, account, or location detection before assuming the film itself is the problem.
Fix The Accountant 2 playback problems
Try the steps that match your symptom. Menu names vary between services and devices, so follow the instructions for the app you are actually using.
1. Close and reopen the app, then restart your device
Fully close the streaming app or browser and reopen it. If playback still fails, restart the device and try again. Prime Video recommends closing the app or browser and powering the device off for at least 60 seconds before restarting. Google Play also recommends closing and reopening its app and restarting the device for movie and show playback problems. See Prime Video’s playback troubleshooting and Google Play’s Android playback guidance.

2. Try another internet connection
If possible, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or try another network, then attempt playback again. Google Play recommends testing a different connection for streaming trouble. There is no single speed threshold established here, so avoid treating a particular speed as a guaranteed fix.
3. Update the app, browser, and device software
Install available updates for the streaming app and your device. If you watch in a browser, check for browser updates as well. The exact update path depends on your device and service.
4. Check the device’s date and time
Set date and time to automatic, then retry. Prime Video notes that an incorrect device date or time can cause authentication issues.

5. Check VPN or proxy settings if you use them
If a VPN or proxy is active, disable it temporarily and try again. Prime Video advises deactivating VPN or proxy servers for title playback errors; Tubi says a VPN can lead to incorrect location detection or blocked playback. Do not use a VPN to try to bypass a service’s licensing restrictions.
6. Follow the service’s instructions for the exact error
Use the help page for the app showing the error; steps are not interchangeable across services. For example, Netflix’s instructions for “This title is not available to watch instantly” address stored device data and include restarting the app or signing out and back in. That is Netflix-specific guidance, not evidence that The Accountant 2 is available on Netflix. See Netflix’s help article for that message.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The Accountant 2 says unavailable: what to do
Search the exact title in the streaming service’s own catalog while signed into the account and profile you intend to use. Check the service’s official title page and its country-specific help information. If the title is not listed for your location, restarting the device will not add it to the catalog; availability depends on licensing and can differ between countries or change over time.
If you are traveling, using a VPN, or seeing a location that does not match where you are, turn off the VPN or proxy and check the service’s location settings. Contact the service if its location detection still appears wrong. Do not assume that an availability listing for the US applies elsewhere.
The Accountant 2 keeps buffering
If the title starts but repeatedly pauses, try another title in the same service and test another connection. If other titles buffer too, the issue is more likely to involve the network, app, or device than this particular film, though that test cannot prove the cause. Restart the app and device, check for updates, and follow the service’s playback-specific help instructions.

If the title remains unavailable or playback still fails after the relevant checks, contact the service that hosts it. Include details that help support separate a catalog issue from an account or technical fault:
- Your country and the service you are using.
- Your device model and app or browser version.
- The exact error message or code.
- Whether other titles play on that service.
- The steps you have already tried and whether the title is absent, fails to start, or buffers.
Alternatives if streaming is not working
The September 10, 2026 US JustWatch snapshot also listed digital rental and purchase, and DVD and Blu-ray purchase, including Amazon DVD/Blu-ray. Availability, price, and inventory can change; verify the current listing, edition, and disc’s region compatibility before buying. Choose streaming, rental, or purchase based on what is currently offered in your country, the format and subtitle or audio options you need, and whether you want a physical copy. The snapshot does not establish current prices.
