Start by installing the latest Dragon’s Dogma 2 update, then retest the same scene before changing settings. Capcom said its September 2, 2026 Title Update 3.2 included frame-rate improvements and updated some PC system requirements, but it does not guarantee that every hitch or frame drop will disappear. For PC, the safest next steps are to test without overlays or recording apps, let shader caches settle after system changes, and lower graphics options one at a time.
First, identify what kind of performance problem you have
“Stuttering” can mean brief hitches even when the average frame rate seems acceptable; “frame drops” can mean a sustained or recurring fall in frames per second. The distinction helps you judge whether a change actually helped. Compare the same location and situation before and after each adjustment, rather than relying on a different scene.

- Note whether performance is consistently low, interrupted by brief hitches, or drops mainly in populated or graphics-intensive scenes.
- For a PC, record the CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, graphics settings, game version, and whether frame generation or overlays are active.
- Change one variable at a time. That makes it easier to reverse a change that has no effect or worsens performance.
Update the game before changing settings
Install the latest update available for your platform, restart the game, and repeat the same test. Capcom’s September 2, 2026 announcement says Title Update 3.2 included frame-rate improvements and changes to some PC requirements. The announcement does not promise a universal stutter fix, so continue troubleshooting if the problem remains. Capcom’s Title Update 3.2 announcement

Close overlays and recording applications
Temporarily close recording software and performance overlays, then test the game again. Capcom’s troubleshooting guidance warns that resource-consuming applications and some recording or overlay software can affect performance and stability. If closing them changes the result, reopen tools individually to identify whether one is involved. Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting thread

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Give shader caches time after graphics changes
After changing graphics hardware or making other PC configuration changes, do not treat the first moments of play as a reliable baseline. Capcom notes that shader-cache compilation may take time after such changes. Allow it to settle, then compare performance in the same scene. Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting thread
Lower graphics settings in small steps
If frame rate is unstable, Capcom advises lowering settings. There is no single best preset established for every PC, so reduce one setting at a time and retest. Keep track of the original values so you can restore them if a change does not help. Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting thread

Check requirements for your installed version
Capcom’s Steam FAQ, last updated July 20, 2026, listed 16 GB RAM for both minimum and recommended PC specifications. Its minimum CPU/GPU combination was an Intel Core i5-10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8 GB VRAM. Capcom estimated 1080p/30 fps at the minimum specification and cautioned that “Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.” Those are FAQ figures from before the September 2026 announcement of updated PC requirements; check Capcom’s current listing for the requirements that apply to your game version rather than treating these as post-update specifications. Disable SLI or CrossFire while diagnosing
Capcom’s FAQ recommends disabling NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFire because these multi-GPU configurations may cause compatibility issues. Treat this as a compatibility check, not a guaranteed cure for stuttering. Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam FAQ

Test DLSS Frame Generation only if your hardware supports it
Capcom added DLSS Frame Generation as an option in the game’s Graphics settings in a May 30, 2024 Steam update. If your hardware is compatible, you can test the option and compare the same scene. Its availability is not evidence that it will eliminate stutters or improve performance on every system. Capcom’s May 30, 2024 Steam update
Console owners: keep the advice platform-specific
PC steps involving overlays, shader caches, multi-GPU configurations, and PC hardware requirements do not directly apply to consoles. Install the latest game update and review the available in-game display or performance options. The official guidance cited here does not establish a separate console-specific fix for frame drops.

When an upgrade or support request makes sense
Consider hardware only after checking current requirements and trying reversible settings changes. Capcom’s July 2026 FAQ named an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 for ray-tracing features; that is a feature-specific requirement from a FAQ that predates the announced PC requirement updates, not a general recommendation to buy either card or proof that an upgrade will fix frame drops.
If the issue persists, gather the platform, PC specifications if applicable, game version, exact settings, the location or situation where it occurs, and any recent hardware or driver changes before contacting Capcom through its current support channels. The guidance cited here does not establish a driver rollback, registry edit, third-party optimizer, or mod as an official fix.
