If Snapchat works on mobile data, reconnect to Wi‑Fi and try once more to confirm the pattern.

If the issue follows Wi‑Fi, contact your internet provider. This comparison narrows down the connection involved, but does not by itself identify whether the cause is the router, provider, network filtering, or another local setting. If Snapchat fails on both connections, continue with the app and device checks.
2. Update and reopen Snapchat

3. Restart your phone
Turn the phone off and back on, then test Snapchat again. A restart is recommended both for general app issues and for Snaps that will not send or load. Snapchat’s chat troubleshooting page includes it alongside checking the connection and clearing the cache.
4. Clear Snapchat’s cache if Snaps will not send or load
Cache clearing is a supported troubleshooting step, particularly when Snaps fail to send or load; it is not a guaranteed fix for every Wi‑Fi problem. Snapchat says clearing the cache will not delete your Memories, Snaps, or Chats. Snapchat’s cache instructions give these in-app paths:

Menu labels can vary with app versions. Follow the closest matching cache option in Snapchat’s settings if your screen differs.

If you cannot log in, note the exact error code rather than treating every login failure as a Wi‑Fi fault. Snapchat says some service-unavailable login errors can be related to poor connectivity and suggests disconnecting from Wi‑Fi and trying mobile data. Other codes may have separate explanations, including account or device restrictions. Follow Snapchat’s instructions for the specific code in its login troubleshooting guidance.
6. Escalate based on the connection test
