Start with the problem you can observe
Separate a progression problem from a combat problem. If your level is not increasing, focus first on quest objectives and EXP. If levels are moving but fights are slow, examine damage stats and gear. If you deal reasonable damage but die often, look at health and defense before changing your damage setup.

The beginner guide from Pro Game Guides describes two quest routes: quests from NPCs, which it says are non-repeatable, and jobs from the Job Board in the Adventurer’s Guild. It says NPC quests can reward EXP, currency, and progression items. Because that guide was updated June 17, 2025, confirm the available quest, its objectives, and its current rewards in game. - Check your EXP bar so you know whether you are gaining progress.
- Look for an available NPC quest or a Job Board job in the Adventurer’s Guild.
- Read the objectives and complete the activity the quest actually asks for.
- Check the reward and EXP bar afterward. If progress still appears stalled, make sure you completed the required objective rather than assuming a particular enemy or activity is the best farm.
Current XP thresholds and a best XP farm are not established by the available sources. Avoid spending time on an assumed route without checking its reward in your current game.
If you level but fights are slow, align stats with your damage

Compare the stat allocation with the damage source you actually use. A build that invests in a stat unrelated to its main attacks may feel weak even when the character is gaining levels. Change one thing at a time and observe the result in the same kind of encounter; no exact stat ratios are verified here.
If you die often, prioritize survival and encounter fit
Frequent deaths do not automatically mean you need more damage. Check your current health, defensive equipment, any available consumables, and whether the encounter is appropriate for your character’s level. The beginner guide says NPC quests can provide items, while a Rune Slayer mechanics search result mentions health-regeneration methods; the underlying wiki page could not be opened, so confirm available healing options and item effects in game. - If you survive but take too long to defeat an enemy, revisit damage alignment and weapon suitability.
- If you are defeated before you can make progress, check health, defense, healing, and whether a less demanding quest or encounter is available.
- If a quest awards equipment or useful items, inspect the rewards rather than assuming every quest is only for EXP.
If equipped gear feels weak, verify its requirements and effects
Search-result summaries for the game-mechanics and runes wiki pages say some weapons and armor have level requirements, and runes can add effects and stat increases to slotted weapons and armor. Since those pages could not be opened, use their summaries as prompts to inspect your own gear rather than as confirmation of a particular setup. - Read the weapon or armor tooltip and check its level requirement.
- Confirm that the item is suitable for the way you deal damage or survive encounters.
- Read each slotted rune’s effect and stat changes; judge whether they support your actual setup.
- Compare the result after changing a piece or rune, rather than treating rarity or a class tier list as proof that it fits.
Specific best-in-slot gear, rune combinations, and item drop recommendations are not established here. The practical test is whether the item’s stated requirement and effects match your character and the problem you are trying to solve.

If you are considering a class change, compare play style—not old rankings
Pro Game Guides describes six classes, class-specific subclasses, and multiclassing after level 10. Its class descriptions point to broad tradeoffs: close-range damage versus defense, and ranged damage versus the ability to kite more easily. Those descriptions can help you think about role and comfort, but they are not a current balance verdict; the guide’s class judgments should not be treated as a present-day tier list. What current advice cannot establish
The available sources do not establish current stat ratios, a best-in-slot gear set, universal rune combinations, the level cap, exact EXP thresholds, or a current class ranking. A community post about a weak level-30 character or a question about ninja runes is an individual example, not evidence of a general balance problem. Check current in-game tooltips and quest rewards before making a costly or broad rebuild.
How to ask for useful build advice
When asking other players to diagnose a build, include enough detail to distinguish a leveling issue from a combat one:
- Class and subclass, plus character level.
- What activity or enemy is giving you trouble.
- Your weapon and how you normally deal damage.
- Your stat allocation and armor.
- The runes you have slotted and their displayed effects.
- Whether the main problem is slow kills, frequent deaths, or stalled EXP.
That information makes it possible to discuss the specific mismatch—quest choice, damage stat, defense, level requirement, or rune effect—instead of applying a generic build recommendation.
