If your Razer Tartarus V2 Pro has the wrong mapping, appears not to save changes, or is missing from Synapse, first check which profile and keymap are active. For a normal remap, Razer’s workflow is to select the device in Synapse, open Customize, choose the pictured key, and assign its new function; changes are described as saving automatically. If Synapse does not detect the keypad, resolve detection before trying to edit its mapping.
Remap a key in Razer Synapse
Razer’s product FAQ says to install the latest available version of Synapse before customizing the Tartarus V2 Pro. Then follow these steps:

- Open Razer Synapse and select the Tartarus V2 Pro device tile.
- Open Customize.
- Click the key you want to change on the keypad image.
- Choose the desired keyboard function, shortcut, or supported function and apply it.
- Test the key in a safe text field or the intended application, with the intended profile and keymap active.
Razer describes the changes as saving automatically. This is the standard remapping workflow, not a guaranteed fix for every save failure. Razer’s Tartarus V2 Pro FAQ

The keypad supports up to 24 configurable keymaps across three profiles, and physical buttons cycle through profiles and keymaps. An assignment can seem to vanish when the keypad has switched to another state, so confirm the active profile and keymap both in Synapse and on the device before recreating it.

The device has 31 programmable controls, a TMR thumbstick, and dedicated Hypershift, keymap-cycle, and profile-cycle controls. Make sure you are editing the intended control or layer rather than a profile-cycle, keymap-cycle, or Hypershift state. Razer’s product details
If Synapse does not detect the Tartarus V2 Pro
When the device is absent from Synapse, key-remapping steps cannot yet help. Work through basic software and firmware checks first, then use the Pro-specific support instructions if the problem persists.

- Check the active profile and keymap. If the device is detected, test a simple ordinary key assignment before changing advanced input settings.
- Check for a current firmware update using Razer’s device guidance. Razer recommends keeping both firmware and Synapse current. Razer’s product FAQ
- If detection or unexpected behavior continues, consult the Tartarus V2 Pro support page for its hard-reset procedure. Razer says a hard reset restores factory defaults; check the current instructions for the exact procedure rather than guessing a button sequence.
Razer’s support guidance for the older Tartarus V2 (model RZ07-02270) also discusses repairing or clean-reinstalling Synapse and following general device-detection guidance. That is adjacent-model advice, not a verified Tartarus V2 Pro procedure. If you consider repair or reinstall, follow current Razer support instructions rather than assuming the older model’s steps apply. Razer Tartarus V2 support

Snap Tap
Snap Tap is off by default and can be toggled in Synapse or with FN + Left Shift. A and D are paired by default. Razer says the associated keys light white when Snap Tap is active and red when it is inactive. Check its state and assignments if opposing directional inputs behave unexpectedly.
Other input features
Snap Flex can assign two actions to one key, including press and release behavior. Dynamic Keystroke, Dual-Keypress Priority, Rapid Trigger, and adjustable actuation can also affect how an input behaves. Review these only when the symptom points to layered input or actuation behavior; they do not replace checking the active profile, keymap, and basic assignment.
