If Indian-language text looks like boxes, blanks or the wrong characters in a PageCrawl.io screenshot, check three things first: whether the screenshot browser can fetch the font, whether that font includes the affected script and weight, and whether capture waits for the font to load. PageCrawl documents custom JavaScript actions that run before tracked-element extraction, but its reviewed help pages do not describe a dedicated Indian-language font setting. Whether you can use that action depends on the capture workflow you are using.
First identify whether the problem is the page or the capture
Open the same page in a regular browser and compare the exact text with the PageCrawl screenshot. This is a diagnostic comparison, not a guarantee that both browsers have identical fonts, network access or timing.

- If the text is broken in both, investigate the site’s font CSS, font files and browser requests.
- If it works in the regular browser but not in PageCrawl, check whether the capture environment can access the font and whether the capture happens before rendering settles.
Keep a sample of the affected text and identify the script—such as Devanagari, Bengali, Tamil or Telugu—rather than assuming all Indian-language text uses the same font coverage.
Check whether the font file loads
In the regular browser, open Developer Tools and inspect the Network panel for font requests; check the Console for related errors. Confirm that the stylesheet loaded, the font URL resolves, and the request is not failing because of authentication, a network error or cross-origin restrictions.

A CSS font-family name does not itself provide a font. The page needs an accessible font source and a valid @font-face declaration (or another available font), and the declaration must be applied to the affected text. Remote web fonts are subject to cross-origin access controls; the font server may need to permit requests from the page’s origin. See MDN’s @font-face documentation and its CORS guide.
For a PageCrawl-only failure, the same questions apply to the capture browser: can it reach the font URL, and does the server allow that cross-origin font request? A font that loads on your desktop may still fail in a different capture environment.

Verify the face and Indian-script glyph coverage
Check that the text’s computed font family matches a declared face, and that the page declares the weight and style it actually requests. For example, a page asking for a bold face may render differently if only a regular face is available.

Do not use a successful document.fonts.load() call as proof that every glyph exists. Its optional text argument filters faces by Unicode-range match; it does not test individual glyph coverage. See MDN’s FontFaceSet.load() reference.
Wait for used fonts before capture
Capture only after the page has reached the content and styles you need. If an action changes text, classes or styles after navigation, wait for font readiness again after that change. If you control the website, fix the source configuration
- Make the font URL reachable from the capture environment, including any required authentication or network access.
- If the font is hosted on another origin, configure the font server to permit the required cross-origin request.
- Confirm the chosen font file contains glyphs for the affected script and text.
- Check that
unicode-range, if present, includes the text’s actual code points. - Declare the weights and styles the page uses, apply the intended family to the affected content, then test again with the same language sample and capture workflow.
PageCrawl’s Troubleshooting help page covers general issues, but the reviewed public help material does not establish a dedicated fix or setting for Indian-language fonts.
