If Nen is not unlocking in Beyond Nen, first check that you earned the Hunter’s License, then use the Activate Nen quest tracker to follow the meditation objective with Rohan. A recent walkthrough describes that progression, but the available sources do not confirm that this symptom is a known live bug or that any workaround is guaranteed. Check the exact stage that failed before repeating anything.
Check which progression step is actually stuck
“Hunter Exam progress not counting” can mean different things: an exam objective may not have registered, the Hunter’s License may be missing, or the later Nen quest may have stopped advancing. Those are separate checkpoints. Start with the game’s visible objective and your current quest stage rather than assuming the entire progression is broken.

| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| You have not received the Hunter’s License | Identify the exam segment that did not advance and compare its objective with the stage described below. |
| You have the license, but Nen is still locked | Open the quest tracker and check whether Activate Nen is active and which objective it shows. |
| The tracker points you to Rohan or meditation | Follow the tracked objective, complete the Mat interaction if it is the pending task, then return to Rohan. |
| The expected action does not advance the tracker | Record the exact objective, action, and result so you can report a reproducible issue instead of guessing at a reset or other remedy. |
The route below comes from Destructoid’s walkthrough, “Beyond Nen Hunter Exam & Nen Unlock Guide,” published October 8, 2026. It is a third-party guide, not an official confirmation of a bug or a developer-authored troubleshooting procedure. An independent Beyond Nen overview updated September 11, 2026 also notes that verified progression details were not available on that fan site at the time. That does not establish that the walkthrough is wrong; it is a reason to treat its instructions as guide-reported and potentially version-sensitive.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsUse the checkpoint, not a guess, to choose what to do
The most useful comparison is between the objective that should be pending, the objective actually shown in the tracker, and whether the same kind of problem appears only in Beyond Nen or elsewhere on Roblox. If you lack the license marker, investigate the exam checkpoint. If the license is present but Activate Nen is absent or points to an earlier conversation, focus on the quest stage. If the meditation task appears complete but the tracker still points back to Rohan, your next check is the return conversation rather than buying another item.

This distinction matters because the walkthrough describes a sequence, not a general repair tool. It does not say that repeating every exam stage, restarting a character, switching servers, or purchasing an item will force a missing flag to update. Treat the text and markers in your current game as observations to record, not as proof of a particular cause.
Verify the Hunter Exam and Hunter’s License
According to the walkthrough, the final Hunter Exam tournament is a one-on-one match, and defeating the opponent awards the Hunter’s License. The guide says a special icon appears at the top right after becoming a Hunter. Check for the license or marker before troubleshooting Nen: if it is missing, the problem is still at the exam or license checkpoint, not necessarily in the Nen quest.
Use both the result of the final match and the visible marker as checks. The walkthrough ties the license award to winning the final fight; it does not describe a separate menu, confirmation dialogue, or manual claim step. If the match appears to be over but the marker is absent, note what the screen shows and which exam stage you just completed. Do not conclude that an unseen save rule or retry limit is responsible: the guide does not explain internal save behavior or how retries are counted.

- AN ICONIC FRANCHISE Hunter x Hunter is iconic. The manga series was created by Yoshihiro Togashi in 1998 and follows a young boy named Gon, who departs on a journey to become a Hunter like his father. Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and encounters the paranormal. The series has sold over 84 million copies, and in 2011, it was adapted into an anime. HUNTERxHUNTER: NENxIMPACT is not only the first true fighting game in the franchises historyits also the first game to be released worldwide!
- Stamina Race: finish the timed obstacle course. If the race is the point where progress appears to stop, record whether you reached the course finish and what objective the tracker showed afterward. The guide does not provide a timer threshold, a route, or a separate scoring condition.
- Trick Tower: complete the maze and the NPC fight. Keep those two parts distinct when describing the problem: reaching the maze’s end and completing the fight are different observable actions. The walkthrough does not identify an alternative route or explain how the game credits an interrupted attempt.
- Zevil Island: survive with two badges. The stated objective is survival with two badges, not simply entering the island. If this stage seems uncredited, note whether you had the two badges and whether you survived to the stage’s end; the guide does not explain badge recovery, retry rules, or what happens if either condition is missing.
- Final tournament: win the one-on-one match; the walkthrough says this awards the license. Check the top-right Hunter marker afterward before treating the Nen steps as the problem.
These stage descriptions help narrow down what to report, but they are not a repair procedure for an objective that has already failed to register. The walkthrough does not say whether repeating a stage is necessary, whether a retry overwrites progress, or how to reset the exam. If the license marker is absent, capture the exact stage and displayed objective rather than treating a replay, reset, or other unverified action as a known fix.
Follow the Activate Nen quest in order
If the Hunter’s License is present, use the active quest tracker to determine where Nen progression stopped. The walkthrough reports these controls and locations; controls and quest details may change between game versions. Compare the tracker to each step below. An objective that has not changed is more informative than simply remembering that you visited a location or used an item.
- Open the quest tracker: press
P. Hide other trackers if they make the current objective difficult to see, and leave Active Quest selected. Check the actual text before traveling; this gives you a starting point for identifying whether the issue is the exam, the NPC route, or meditation. - Select the Nen objective: follow the prompt named Activate Nen. If it is not the active objective, check the tracker’s selection before moving on. The guide’s direction is to follow that named prompt, not to assume that visiting Rohan without the quest selected will move the progression forward.
- Get the route from the Librarian: the guide says the Librarian in Port Town directs you to Rohan at the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island. Speak with the Librarian, travel to the named location, then talk to Rohan and follow the dialogue. Record whether the tracker changed after the conversation. The walkthrough does not describe a hidden prerequisite or a way to skip either NPC.
- Complete the meditation task: if you do not have a Meditation Mat, the walkthrough says to buy one from the Port Town merchant. Place the Mat, approach it, press
T, and finish the keyboard-letter quick-time event. Keep the actions in order: the account is not that buying the Mat alone unlocks Nen. If the event does not start or does not finish, note which of those steps occurred and what appeared on screen. - Return to Rohan: after meditation, use the active quest objective to return and continue the dialogue. The walkthrough says Rohan unlocks the Nen ability after this task. Do not stop at the completed quick-time event if the tracker still directs you back to the NPC; the described sequence includes returning to Rohan.
Do not assume that buying the Mat alone completes the quest: the described progression includes placing it, interacting with it, finishing the quick-time event, and returning to Rohan. If an objective remains on screen after an action, use that tracker text to identify the next point of failure. For example, distinguish “the Mat was purchased” from “the event was completed,” and distinguish “the event was completed” from “Rohan’s return dialogue was followed.” Those are different checkpoints in the walkthrough’s route.

Confirm whether Nen unlocked
The walkthrough describes these controls after Nen is unlocked: Nen techniques on the E wheel, Nen charge on G, and the Nen skill tree on M. Treat these as version-sensitive guide details, not universal or official UI guarantees. If the quest appears complete but these features are unavailable, record what the tracker says and which expected feature is missing; that is more useful than inferring a particular cause.

Check the three controls as guide-reported signs, rather than treating any one unavailable control as conclusive proof of a bug. The walkthrough associates the controls with techniques, charging Nen, and the skill tree respectively; it does not describe alternate key bindings, platform-specific input, or an official confirmation screen. Include the platform or input context you were using if it helps explain what you observed, but do not assume that a particular keyboard is required. No special keyboard is identified as a fix.
Report a progression issue with useful details
If the expected objective does not advance, report what happened through an official game channel rather than guessing that a character reset, server change, repeated exam, or equipment purchase will fix it. The available sources do not establish any of those actions as a remedy. There is also no reviewed notice confirming that “Nen not unlocking” or “Hunter Exam progress not counting” is a current, known Beyond Nen bug, or describing a patch that fixed it.
Roblox Support’s glitch guidance asks players to describe the behavior, when it began, and whether it occurs in one experience or across multiple experiences. Include enough detail for someone else to locate the stuck step:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- The exam stage or Nen quest objective shown in the tracker.
- The action you took that should have advanced it, and what happened instead.
- When you first noticed the problem.
- Whether you have seen the same behavior in other Roblox experiences or only in Beyond Nen.
- Whether the Hunter’s License marker is visible, and, for the Nen route, whether you reached Rohan, completed the Mat interaction and quick-time event, and returned to Rohan.
Keep the report specific and chronological: state the objective you saw, the action you took, and the next thing the game displayed. For an exam issue, name the stage and its described condition; for a Nen issue, identify whether the tracker was at the Librarian, Rohan, meditation, or the return conversation. That gives support a reproducible sequence to evaluate without claiming a cause you cannot confirm.

The independent Beyond Nen game overview lists Roblox, Discord, and X as official channels. Use a channel linked from the experience or its official links page, and describe the issue without sharing account credentials. The official links page does not provide a verified fix procedure in the material reviewed. No reviewed source identifies an in-game product or generic gaming accessory as a solution; the Meditation Mat is an in-game quest item, and the keyboard is mentioned only for the quick-time event.

A stalled objective can be frustrating, but the evidence here does not establish a universal workaround. Do not treat a reset, a server change, repeating the exam, or buying another item as a proven fix. The guide gives a progression route and stage objectives; it does not document those recovery steps, the game’s save rules, or a confirmed defect. Follow the visible tracker, write down the point where expected progress stops, and report that behavior through an official channel.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need before trying to unlock Nen in Beyond Nen?
The Destructoid walkthrough published October 8, 2026 places the Hunter Exam and Hunter’s License before Nen activation. Check for the Hunter marker at the top right, then look for the Activate Nen quest in the tracker.

Best Value
How do I complete the meditation objective?
The walkthrough says to buy a Meditation Mat from the Port Town merchant if needed, place it, approach it, press T, and finish the keyboard-letter quick-time event. It then directs you back to Rohan.
What should I check if Hunter Exam progress is not counting?
Identify the exact stage first: the walkthrough describes a timed obstacle-course finish for Stamina Race, a maze and NPC fight at Trick Tower, survival with two badges on Zevil Island, and a one-on-one win in the final tournament. It does not explain retry or save rules, so record the stage and displayed objective rather than assuming a replay will fix it.
Is Nen not unlocking a confirmed Beyond Nen bug, and should I reset?
The reviewed sources do not confirm a live progression bug, a patch, or a guaranteed workaround. They also do not establish a character reset, server change, repeated exam, or equipment purchase as a fix. Record where the tracker stopped and report the behavior.
What details should I include in a Roblox glitch report?
Roblox Support’s glitch guidance asks for what the behavior is, when it began, and whether it occurs in one experience or across several. Include the exact exam or quest objective, the action that should have advanced it, and what happened instead.
The Bottom Line
Check for the Hunter’s License first, then follow Activate Nen through the Librarian, Rohan, the Meditation Mat task, and the return conversation. The walkthrough is useful for locating the expected checkpoints, but it does not confirm a live bug or promise a fix. If a stage still will not advance, report the exact objective, action, and result through an official channel instead of guessing at a reset.
